Following a strict diet will help you maximize the quality of the gains you make, as well as the time it takes for you to do so. When choosing a diet, you will first need to make sure that it is a balanced diet, consisting of all the nutrients. Make sure that you are not only getting all the essential requirements, but also getting them in the right quantities. The key point to focus on is that you get a caloric surplus.

Figure Out a Good Routine

Gaining strength is an important part of gaining muscle mass. Gaining lean muscle mass, is a challenging process. You will need to work hard if you want to achieve results. A lot of this will also depend on your experience level. If you are just starting out at the gym, you may need to stick to a two-day routine as this will allow you to work four days a week. As you develop your muscles, you will then be able to change your routine to something that suits you better. For intermediate to advanced body builders, you will want to experiment with either a three day or four-day split.

Get Proper Rest

Another essential requirement when trying to make gains is to try to make sure you are getting sufficient rest. This is an essential part in making proper gains. When getting sufficient rest, you are giving your body the time it needs to recover from a day’s work out. The ideal amount of rest you will need to be getting is around eight hours. However, if you are not able to, then six hours is the bare minimum you should be getting. Getting too much sleep may also have an adverse effect as this could lead to lethargy.
