"To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing."
- Elbert Hubbard

What a round of bowls in Round 15!! it will be remembered for some bizzar results.
How could Yokine defeat the PowerHouse, a side that is stacked with so many state players or previous State players. However lets us congratulate those Yokine Doggies on a magnificent win
Wanneroo show far more desire as they put the Melville Magic right out of the picture for the finals. Melville fade away as the season comes to a close
Game of the day was a fizzog when we see Cockburn do what Sherro expected them to do, win 6/2. Even tho the game was played on the carpet instead of the grass it made no difference to Cockburn who play well on any surface
Leeming won the game against a side that has barely fired a shot this season yet amazingly can still avoid relegation. Vic Park seem hellbent on making sure they do get relegated.

Cockburn (6 ) beatBedford (2) ..........83/ 72..

Bedford thought this game was winnable and why not!! They changed tack by playing on the carpet instead of the grass. The move would have been successful considering they lost by 11 shots. What was totally unexpected was the huge loss of Lance Strahan 9/36. It was a let down for Bedford and they now have to consider why Lance has struggled to win pennant matches but performs well in major events. He has to come to terms with why he cant get the best out of his players and also improve his own game at the same time. The word is that Lance has made bad choices in his shot selection and he is not playing an aggregate game, this is what playing pennants is all about when 16 players are involved..
Where to for Bedford, the second round has shown them up somewhat, after a great start.
It would seem that Lance Strahan would need to be replaced as skipper.
What is sad for Sherro is that I have stuck by Lance Strahan thru thick and thin. Today was so disappointing to see a result like 9/36. Then we look at the stat sheet and see he has returned just two wins for the season and a minus 32 shots. One has to wonder how Lance, who has the pick of any players in the club is not able to get the best out of those that have played for him.

B. Richardson{ skip}, M. Lemos, Paul Hunter, K. Collins-----15
The Jones Boy being unavailable for this game was a loss that the Bulls could ill afford, however it was a good effort from the rink against Steve Srhoy's rink which has performed very well this season. There was never much in the game tho it was Steve Srhoy and his boys who always seemed to have control on the scoreboard and led 9/3 after 7 ends, 16/8 after 14 ends, then Bedford put on a spurt to be only 14/16 down on the 17th end and from there on it was game over as Steve Srhoy won 20/15.

R. Hughes (skip) S. Cerff, A. Petchell, D. Penman-------------16
P. Harris {skip} B. Gartrell, M.Illich, K. Manton....................27
Pieter Harris played a great game today against the leading rink at Cockburn, that of Russell Hughes. Pieter and his team had Russell under the pump all day leading 10/2 on the 6th end 15/6 on the 10th end it got to 19/15 on the 15th end and gallop away to to 27/16.

S.Bainbridge {skip}, J. Trewhella, P. Healy, M. Trewhella------21
Well we did say that Stu Bainbridge had to come up with a winning formula against Cockburn who seemed to have his measure . Gary Carberry tasted defeat for the first time losing for the first time. The game was pretty even at 6/6 all at the 9th end then Stu was 6/9 down on the 11th end. Well that was the last time that Gary Carberry scored till the second last and last end. Stu won 21/11

D. Brown (skip), M. Zusman, J. Ravilich, P. Novak------------36
Lance Strahan {skip}, N.Minchin. D.Crook, P. Hunter----------9

Daniel Brown had stated that Bedford were weak, wouldn't make the four and he didn't like Bedford. He has backed it up with two convincing games this year, winning 31/9 in the first round 36/9 in the second round for an aggregate 67/18.
Dan Brown Cockburn (pictured) smashes Lance Strahan in a powerhouse display.

An unbeleivable scoreboard for Bedford and what a belting Daniel Brown has handed out. Things appeared to be going ok as far as a contest was concerned with Dan Brown leading 10/7 on the 8th end. Then WALLOP 12/7, 13/7, 14/7, 16/7, 16/8, 17/8, 21/8, 25/8, 26/8, 33/8, 34/9, 36/9.

Best Player was Leader Peter Novak who was outstanding

The two players who were on fire in this game were Rad Anderson who has had a terrific season and R. Ryder. I spoke with Anthony Provost after the game and he was full of praise for both these players who had set up this fine victory, saying he had an armchair ride.

Yokine(8) DEF Doubleview (0)...............93/66..
Who would have picked this result that Yokine would have beaten the FlowerHouse at DV. What an embarrasing loss for DV. Last week it was leeming winning 7/1. Yokine have been the best last team in my memory and with this win they have given themselves an outside chance of avoiding relegation.

A.Davis {skip} D. Haydock, J. Gallop, W. Coffey..........................24

Wanneroo(6) beat Melville (2)..................76/ 65.
Again this is an unexpected victory that the Roo boys have acheived here and the win still gives them a chance of securing a final four spot.
Good wins by new skip Reg Humphreyson over the top rink Melville rink of Jeff Hall and Stein Davies taking Cameron Girvan to the cleaners with a 23/10 win
Geoff Ellis had his hands full with a very busy Jon Sharp who came from well behind to win the last 8 ends and win the game 16/15
Steve Hughes came good with a win against the Wanneroo Wizard Clive Adams 20/16

D Trewella )skip) P. Caffell , J.Tyrer, P Fair..............................19

Cambridge overcame a determined Osborne Park who were leading on the major scoreboard by 11 shots about three quarters of the way thru the game.
The scores do indicate that O.P had a red hot crack at winning this game and came so close. Unfortunately close enough dont get the big end of the points but this effort should give O.P plenty of confidence for the rest of the season as they battle to avoid relegation.
Cambridge did what they had to do and The John Rainoldi led rink who have not had a great contribution to the Cambridge cause so far this season was the main reason for the win tonight.
