Thomas Mitchell wins the Sorrento Master Singles against Daniel Trewhella 25 - 23

A tough tight and tense game saw Thomas Mitchell win the 50th Sorrento Master Singles in an amazing comeback against four time winner Daniel Trewhella at Sorrento today.

When Sherro arrived the score was 10-9 in favour of DT. The score moved onto 10 - 10 after a brilliant drive from DT to put the jack in the ditch only to see Thomas Mitchell draw to within a foot of the ditch to regain the shot, Hmmmm looked like this was going to be a belter of a game.
From there on DT dominated the game to lead 19 - 10 leaving Thomas in his wake and looking the goods to win his record breaking 5th Sorrento Master Singles. Must say that Thomas seemed to lose his concentration during this period of the game
As always the game is never over until the winner has 25 shots and this is where Thomas came into his own. The standard of the game was high but Thomas found another leg so to say picking up a 2, 4, 3, to be level pegging. This was aided by some doubtful shot selection by Daniel when one down on an end that he turned into a 3 down.
From here the game was intense with both players giving their all and we must add both boys played so well from here on, top class bowling was the order of the day as both strived hard for supremcey . Score moved on for Thomas at 19 - 20, 20 - 20, 21 - 20, 22-20, 22 - 22, 23 - 22, 23 - 23, 25 - 23

The last end when the score was 23-23 Thomas wins the measure for second shot and is the new Sorrento Master Singles Champion

Semi - finals saw Daniel Trewhella defeat Travis Vallance 25- 15. It is good to see the young boys doing well and for Travis this is a great accomplishment to make it into the semi's.
Travis also was a member of the runner up side that played in this years State Fours Final.

Thomas Mitchell defeated Matt France 25 - 22 after being behind for the most part of this game. Again we must congratulate young Matt France who has come along in leaps and bounds after a being a successful Junior. Matt plays as a three for Yokine in his first season in the Premier League

Great games today, The KrackerJack and current Over 60's champ had a tight tussle with 4 time Sorrento Master Single winner Daniel Trewhella. Word was the Kracker was leading thoughout the game for the most part, it was when he started to miss his drives that let Daniel into the game and bought about Tony's demise

Travis Vallance has surprised somewhat by making the semi-finals, but take nothing away from the young Champ, he banged out the Austalian Junior Singles champ Cody Packer and followed up with a huge win against Australian Silver Tier squad member Trystan Smallacombe, who incidently is a previous winner of this event.

Thomas Mitchell has gone through this tournament with comparative ease, so far he has done the job with a minimum of fuss. He has played a solid brand of Bowls and mostly he answers the call in difficult situations. He disposed of Kyle McIlroy's challenge and moved into the semi where he will meet the new kid on the block, and he is young, former Merredin player Matty France.

Speaking of Matty France, he banged out some pretty handy players, John Morgan. Steve Withers, and Scott Edmonds to make it into the semi-final. It should be an interesting game between he and Thomas Mitchell
