A snap early in the game when the scores were close, the players are watching a Graeme Wishart Bowl coming into the head
------------L/R; Daniel Trewhella, Daniel Brown and Anthony Provost

The Composite side of Doubleview's Daniel Trewhella and Mosman Park's Daniel Brown won the State Pairs final today at Yokine against the Vic Park combination of Anthony Provost and Graeme Wishart. 18-9
Both sides had come thru to the final defeating some quality opponents to make it to this final.
Anthony Provost and Graeme Wishart survived in section play after losing a game to Neil Watson 10-19
Daniel Trewhella and Daniel Brown had an easier road to the finals winning most games quite comfortably until the final day where they faced harder competition against Cody Packer and Paul Hunter in the first game.
It was in this game that Daniel Brown after 3 ends had been played had to leave the greens and a sub was called to replace him after taking ill. That sub was quite a handy player to fill in, none other than Rod "Rocket" Heaton
who is sponsoring the event.
The other hard game was against Thomas Mitchell and Mark Simpson, it was close for a while and once again Daniel Brown had to quit and was once again replaced by Rod "Rocket" Heaton.
As we had been hearing the call of "bring it on" we now were ready to "rollem down" in the final of the State Pairs for 2009-10
with Daniel Brown ready to play.
The game started with the skippers finding range early and it was they who would determine who would have shot at the conclusion of the end. Both skips were on the job and playing some big bowls.
Daniel Brown had a slight edge over Graeme Wishart till the 4th end where the score was 3-3. From that end is when Graeme Wishart found his range and started to have an impact and started bowling extremely well
The only problem was there were 4 dead ends before the game moved onto end 5.
This game was a cracker and moved at a fast pace with both sides rarely wasting time walking and talking.
The skill level was very high and it was a matter inches that would make or break for shot.
The fifth end proved to be a disaster for Anthony Provost when attempting to put the jack in the ditch to make 4 shots, he called out thinking he had played a bomb but instead he sliced the Jack to the right and went down 5 making it 8-3 in favour of Daniel Trewhella.
As the game progressed it was such a battle with all players contributing. First it would be Graeme Wishart then it would be Daniel Brown in their battle for supremacy and then it could be altered by brilliant bowls from either skip. The heads were tight as a can of sardines and as we said previously it was a battle of inches.
The game progressed at a good speed but it became evident that the two Daniel's had the call over their opponents and went on the win the event without having to play the last end
Daniel Brown had the edge in a great performance, his pinpoint bowling when the heads were extremely tight played a significant part in this victory.
Graeme Wishart also played a very good game with many telling bowls throughout the contest but his good work would be changed by either Dan Brown or Dan Trewhella
The difference at the end was Daniel Trewhella. he was clearly the best of the four players
with an outstanding game of Draw or drive and also the little over the draw shot.
Anthony Provost had come to play, it was clear he meant business but was overshadowed by Daniel Trewhella.
RESULTS OF THE MORNING GAMES
Neale Griffin/ Mitch Biglin def Matt Ellul/Dale Marsland 17-9
Anthony Provost/Graeme Wishart def Daniel Wood/A. Drayton 13-12
This was a lucky escape for Anthony Provost, Daniel Wood dropped a 5 in the game which is a big number to give to AP the score shows a one shot loss to Daniel Wood.
Daniel Trewhella/ Daniel Brown/ def Cody Packer/Paul Hunter 16-10
Cody Packer put up a good fight but were over run but none the less a good performance and a long time in between drinks to see a Bedford side finish this high up in a State event
Thomas Mitchell/Mark Simpson def Keith Guelfi/Karl Vandersluys 16-11
--------------------Rocket Heaton Thomas Mitchell and Mark Simpson

SEMI FINALS
Daniel Trewhella/ Daniel Brown def Thomas Mitchell/ Mark Simpson 17-11
Anthony Provost/Graeme Wishart def Neale Griffin/Mitch Biglin 23/8
Is that score right might be the question from Neale Griffin
