Text Box: Get down to the Osborne Park Bowling Club on Sundays from the 22nd May to enjoy some seriously social activities. First up at 9am is Sunday morning Scroungers for the serious Sunday bowler , then from 12.30-1pm we will have a light lunch and get started on Social bowls. Then about 3-4 we have after game snacks and drinks after which we start our corner to corner comp where a bit of wagering on your bowls skills is required. Then about 4-5 we roll onto our Texas Holdem poker games, We will be contacting all social members to let Text Box: them know what we are doing and encouraging them to have a go and get down to the club. We are lining up winter snacks and small meals through Ron Francesconis food distribution company. Delectable items such as pizza, lasagna, ravioli, fried rice, noodles, steggles chicken nibbles, and beef rolls to name just a few . The funds raised from this food service will be directed back to equipment for social bowls. Specifically we need ten sets of size zero’s, ones, twos lawn bowls for the many lady bowlers who Text Box: participate in social bowls who have difficulty using the size 5-6 bowls available at the club. The format for the Social bowls will be a come one come all pop-stick selected one day teams. We encourage social bowlers to turn up on the day as individuals who will select a pop-stick to enter a random team, we also encourage couples or teams of four to nominate to play together and their pop-sticks will be selected to enable mates to have a roll together. Corner to corner bowls will follow the social bowls, this is for those who would like to have a wager on their bowling skills where each competitor puts in a dollar and the winner of each round Text Box: Volume 1, Issue 1 Text Box: 10th May 2011 Text Box: After the social bowls and corner to corner competitions we will be running Texas Holdem poker games for those that would like to stick around and have a bit of a gamble. Entry to the poker games will be a per seat entry fee.
