The win by James Jaworski and Melissa Solly in the Pairs sees the first female competitior win her way through to play in the Australian finals at Tweed Heads to decide who gets to play in England.
This is a great result for not only Melissa who incidently won the Rising Star award for Lady Bowlers but for Ladies in general that they can play in this tough competition and maybe win an event as Melissa has
This is further confirmation that James Jaworski has a great future in front him and the sky is the limit for young James
Congratulations to all winners and we have a good cross section of players competing at Tweed Heads. Aaron Delaporte, Rod Heaton and John Goddard all played in the PBA finals last year

Pairs final James Jaworski and Melissa(Missy) Solly def Ross Dempsey and Cameron Tunstall 7-0 8-4

James Jaworski is a member who withdrew from the initial 2 day event due to injury. Melissa won her first 2 games with Dave Rankin. Dave had to withdraw due to an injured back allowing James to sub in. Melissa is now our first female to qualify for the nationals at Tweed in August 26/27 which has a strong field inluding Wayne Turley, Steve Glasson and Aaron Sherriff

The Professional Bowls Association qualifying events are being held at the Osborne Park bowling club over the weekend 3rd and 4th May.

The Professional Bowlers Association has grown from 21 members who participated last season to 34 this season and that is an encouraging sign for Kyle McIlroy who has done a great job organizing this event

Last season David Opie won his place to play in the Engage International Singles held in England and lets hope that other W.A players can do the same this year

It is a strong field contending for a place in each of 4 singles events and a pairs event where qualifiers receive flights and accommodation to Warilla Indoor Bowls club for the Australian finals in August this year.

Winners will then playoff to be Australian representative in Scottish Masters, Welsh Masters, Engage International, World Indoor Singles & Pairs which are played in the UK.
