Stirling reignite their final four chances after their good win against the Cambridge Knights moving into the four as a consequence of that win. How long can they stay there is the $64 question, it is all in their hands from here on. Cambridge retain second place on the ladder despite the loss to Stirling, would put this loss down to unfamiliarity with the Stirling carpet.

Doubleview PowerHouse made a statement today, that is they are the best 16 in the competition at the moment after their good win in difficult conditions against Victoria Pk Reds who seem to struggle when conditions are not ideal. The Reds have some work to do and will have to stay focussed if they are to make the final four.

Osborne Pk Saints rallied for a good win down at Mosman to keep their chances alive when they won a tight game on three rinks. The Mozzies have lost their last two games, both at home and now seem destined to not make the finals

Sth Perth Millers kept the pressure on when they defeated the Bassendean Lions rather comfortably at Sth Perth on a fast track in very windy conditions. It is full steam ahead for the Millers while Bassendean needed a good game today to keep their confidence up

Kardinya defeated Wanneroo to help keep them in contention to avoid demotion territory . Wanneroo are not alone when it comes to losing at Kardinya but could well roo this loss at seasons end

PLAYED AT DOUBLEVIEW
Billed as game of the day with Doubleview the favourites.

The win has entrenched Doubleview in top place on the ladder and something would have to go horribly wrong for them to lose it.

There were two big winners in this game, David Rankin and Kyle McIlroy led rinks set it all up with strong wins, they both lead the skippers BPR list and continued on their merry way today adding to their already impressive tally of wins.

Doubleview young gun Robert Bell (pictured) played a big game in the match of the round at Doubleveiew

Victoria Park were without two key players in this game but hard to say they would have made a 22 shot difference but no doubt the side would have been better with them in.

How much would Thomas Mitchell be missed, well he just might have made the difference in the close game between Shane Knott (who took TM's place) and John Slavich which was won 16-15 in John Slavich's favour.
Rooster Wishart without Charlie McNeil is like a ship without a sail or a man without a woman, it would be reasonable to think the score could have been a bit closer in his game against Kyle McIlroy

A very close game where all DV players were doing a fine job to keep the pressure on all the way to record this win. Rhett Butler was in good touch with several good saves during the game.

Kyle McIlroy and his rink were too good for Rooster Wisharts rink who was without his trusty 3rd Charlie McNeil due to a late injury. No doubt a huge loss for the rink.
This win has kept Kyle and his rink at the top of the BPR list, it is the best figures we have seen from him in such a long time.

David Rankin and his side did the job against against the AP led his rink who had won their previous 4 games. The win was made possible by the brilliant display of leading by young Robert Bell who turned it on in pretty hard and windy conditions to become the best player on that rink of 8.

The rest of the Rankin led rink just played follow the leader and a good result came their way. An important win which played a huge part in the win against VP.

Best for VP was Paul Butler who is one of the best bowl kicker back 3rds in the competition, he gets those bowls tidied up and kicked back as soon as the end is called, there is unfortunetly no award for this aspect of the game but if there was he would be the ........ getting back to the game Paul Butler also had a good day at the office so we were told even tho the rink lost

No word on this game but a very good efort from both rinks, John Slavich has moved into 7th best performed rink.
Shane Knott has done a good job for the Reds filling in as the skip and apart from one hiding at Sth Perth in a night game has kept the scores tight which is most important

PLAYED AT SOUTH PERTHSteve Kelly
Bassendean were overwhelming favourites to win this clash with the Bassendean Lions and the score justifies that.
Sth Perth Millers with their sights set on making the final four, are going great guns at home whether it is a day or night game. All rinks joined in today to make it an 8 pointer to further shore up their position on the ladder in 3rd position which still remains in some doubt with several side fighting for that place.

Steve Kelly (pictured) Playing Lead in the big win by Glenn Pauling

Today the game was played on a quick carpet and in windy condititions which Basso Lions simply couldn't handle.

Ross Bresland led his rink to a comfortable victory over Daniel Patterson to win his 6th game for the season. The win was as a result of the brilliant leading of Pebbles Durrant and a strong performance from the second Greg Reagan, they won their positions and it was a case of follow the front end which the backend did and a good result for Ross Bresland.

Glenn Pauling has returned to the skippers role with a vengance, it was a telling result when they crunched the previously all powerful rink of Brian "The Lion" Axford. We have not much info but one we did hear was the performance of leader Grant Stokes who did a pretty good job for Brian Axford.

The closest game was that between Nick Reagan who is chugging along at 50/50 in terms of wins and Justin Opie and his rink who have been very competitive with several close encounters thru the season. Not much in it but it seems that no side gets an easy game playing the Opie led rink but Nick Reagan who is enjoying a far better season than last is also extra hard to toss at Sth Perth

STIRLING RANGERS 95 (7) def CAMBRIDGE KNIGHTS 61 (1)
PLAYED AT STIRLING. FRIDAY NIGHT
After losing their first three night games in the premier League The Stirling Rangers saw the 4th occasion bring up a win, their first night game win since becoming a Premier League Club after defeating the Cambridge Knights last night

It was the win they had to have and how timely the calavalry arrived to help the Stirling cause. Too much had been left to the rinks of Tony Krajancic and Neville Stevens to carry the Stirling 16 hope of making the finals.

Matt Ellul's new rink had shown promising signs in their last game against Osborne Parks Kevin Pickering when they lost a very high standard game by two shots.
The win against Jon Sharps awesome foursome who had won their last four games was further evidence that Matt Ellul and his rink are ready to step up and play their part as Stirling make their drive toward the finals.

Marko Krajancic returned to the skippers role and had one of the toughest contracts in the Premier League taking on the hard to beat Chris Lander led rink, he and his rink have done well to lose by just two shots.

Neville Stevens would have been buoyed by his elevation to be part of the state squad and deservedly so. He and his rink have been a tower of strength this season, had a new player in J. Astone and perhaps that is a que that there could be more players at Stirling who might be considered for selection in the PL side in future times ahead.

Tony Krajancic and his rink had a good win against the well performed rink of Pieter Harris.. It was hard work for Tony and his rink when Cambridge leader David Jones played a great leaders game to have the call over Jimmy Gupanis who has been leading so well for his rink in previous games.
The back three of Alan Erceg, Tommy Norac and Tony Krajancic were able to overcome the great leading of David Jones to win and at the same time inflicting on the Harris led rink their biggest loss for the season.

What to make of the Cambridge loss? It is a difficult job to beat Stirling in a day game on the carpet, it would be even more difficult to win there at night. the Knights have never played a night game on the Stirling Carpet and while not liking to lose any game would not be to perturbed with this loss. They would have already started planning for their next game against Doubleview.

OSBORNE PARK SAINTS 89 (7) def MOSMAN PARK MOZZIES 77 (1)
PLAYED AT MOSMAN PARK

Osborne Park Saints in unfamiliar territory on the the League Ladder in 8th place, it has been a long time since they have been in that position, had to win the game against Mosman Pk Mozzies.
This they have done to move into 6th position which keeps 4th position in their sights. While it has been a season of disappointment so far, the win shows that all is not lost and a return to their best form could possibly see the Saints right in the thick of the action at seasons end

Mosman Park have let themselves down somewhat by not following thru with the burst of 4 wins straight losing consecutively to 8th placed OP and Sth Perth who treat grass like Superman treats Kryptonite

K. Pickering (sk), M. Nilson, F. DiGiuseppe, B. Couper...........................20
John Rainoldi (sk), R.Graff, Ja Rainoldi, G. Papadopolous .................. 11
Kevin Pickering is enjoying his move back to the skippers role and has produced two wins from two starts. Bob Couper has continued on with his fine form and playing very consistenly over the last 4 or five games to be a match winner for the rink while Mike Nilson has been going pretty good. Fred DiGuiseppe is another who is doing well.
John Rainoldi was a tad unlucky at times with good bowls when down only to see the jack not go where it was intended.
At the end of the day it is a good thing for the Saints to have reinstalled Kevein Pickering back to play skip and the last two games bought positive results

J.Goddard (sk), I. Payne, B. Galloway, G.King.........................................18
C. McKenna (sk), M Bigg,, G Ellis, S West ................................................ 22
A good win by Chris McKenna and his rink to roll one of the best rinks in the PL. I am sure he would have been mindful of the hiding he recieved when he was beaten 29-10 in the first round against Ian Payne. It was a tight game with just 4 shots separating the rinks at the end.

Ian Payne played very well for the Saints today but it was the very even effort from Chris McKenna led rink that secured victory

G. Evans (sk) R.Lawrence, C. Fleay, G. Nicol ...........................................27
S. Withers (sk), R. D'Sousa, R. Hawke, T.Alberti................................-.-.. 22
A good win by Wings Evans and his rink, we have little info but what we do know is Grant Nicol had a good day

S. O`Neil (sk), P. Caffell, D.Adam, L. Grigg ...............................................24
R. Tiller (sk), D. Marsland, T.O`Neil, G.Robertson.................................. 22

Steve O`Neil and his rink bounced back from their disappointing last game against Stirling and landed a good win against Mosman's best performed skipper Robbie Tiller and also their best rink.
Lewis Grigg who didn't enjoy his best game against Stirling was back to his best in this game to play a vital part in the victory, The Bear Daniel Adam who also was missing in action at Stirling was back to his previous good form while Pat Caffell joined in to help seal this narrow but important win.
