18th ROUND
The season is over for most sides but interest remains in the games to be played in this round
Osborne Park and Mosman Park play the bottom two sides Morley and Cockburn and both are looking for 8 pointers. If OP achieves that goal then they retain 2nd spot
Doubleview take on an in form Sth Perth and will want a win. A loss could be costly
Cambridge and Yokine do battle and depending on what VP do either could sneak into the final four.
Vic Park play Wanneroo and of course they just need to win and that will get them over the line for 4th place

This game is all important for Vic "they know we are coming" Park.
V.P. must win to ensure they will play in the finals next week. It is quite possible that Cambridge or Yokine could snatch 4th place in this last round
Vic Park's leader Gary Lockett
has had a very good season in his 1st year of playing PL has a bright future ahead of him
--
Form says it will be a VP victory with 3 of the four rinks firing. Rhett Butler's rink have lost one game in their last 6. Thomas Mitchell has won 4 of his last six
Graeme Wishart has won 3 of his last 4 and AP has won 2 of his last 4
Wanneroo
will be at full strength for this game and should be able to make VP work hard for victory
With the game being played at VP I don't see Wanneroo winning this game but we can expect a spirited game from them. Once again the only thing going for Wanneroo is their pride and to play their part helping to shape the final four.
Both Cambridge and Yokine will be checking progress scores from this game.

A game that has no importance other than to see if Sth Perth can roll the PowerHouse. A challenge we hope they will take
The Millers have been in good shape
since two disastrous losses in rounds 12 and 13, (Cambridge and Morley) Since then there has been an awakening with some great performances. The heat is off so to say now that relegation has been avoided and it will be interesting to see if they can give the PowerHouse a run for their money. Not much point in turning up to play if the Millers aren't going in full bore.
Doubleview have powered on with an impressive win against a depleted Wanneroo
and are sure to pick up 2 points here but might need 3 to be sure so as to retain top position to play the finals at home. OP play Morley where a full count is very possible.
Once again the stumbling block for any Sth Perth Rink will be playing Daniel Trewhella who it seems will end up with the biggest number of pennant wins in a season for sometime.
His rink lost the first game of the season to Matt Ellul and were rolled by Wings Evans in the second loss. 14 others have tried but couldn't do it.
John Slavich's rink have performed admirably this season and the word we have been getting from opposition players is the form of the 3rd Patrick "BullsEye" Buller who has had an excellent season for the PowerHouse.

The last game in Premier League for Cockburn who dominated the bowling scene for such a long time, around 40 years or so. It will be strange to not see this most famous of clubs playing in Premier division next season.
Cockburn's last appearance in a grand final was only 4 seasons ago in 2006 when they were beaten by Wanneroo.
Cockburn's John Ravlich has been a wonderful player over many seasons and still gives his all in every game he plays for Cockburn

It is hard to believe that in 2008 they defeated the mighty NSW State side, true to say they did have a couple of imports, Bill Galloway and Grant Nicol. However what a unbelievable performance from this mighty Club.
It could well be the last time we will see the great Peter Sardelic playing in the PL and what a magnificent person and player he has been.
How fitting that Steve Srhoy and John Rainoldi, both State side team mates for many years will be playing in this game.
Mosman should win this game and will be looking for a full count but whether they can do that is doubtful. Every point will be important in the wash up for second place.

Another very important game for both sides. If Wanneroo can beat VP it will open the door for one of these sides to finish in the final four depending on how many points are gained from the game.
Yokine have been a puzzle because at times they have been brilliant and just when you might think they have finally arrived they let the tipsters down.
Last week's effort against Mosman was all class and it was achieved without Rocket Heaton's rink winning.
Mike Nilson has returned to the skippers role with a vengeance winning two games against quality opponents.
Yokine's Mike Nilson has done well in his first season of Premier League
is enjoying the competitive side of the game

Russell Hughes will play his last game for Yokine and in W.A for the for seeable future.
He has been a bonus for Yokine this season and is sure to go out with a bang for the Doggies.
Cambridge have the better chance of getting in the four
being 2½ points off the pace and an 6 pointer could do the trick while the Doggies need the full 8 providing VP lose .
Last week against OP, Cambridge showed they are not quite up to the standard of the sides already in the 4 having lost to them
in the past few games.
However if Cambridge can produce their best effort and we know how good that can be, anything is possible.
Brian Calthorpe's rink broke their losing sequence of 4 straight losses and Cambridge will be looking for that form to continue on in this game
Trystan Smallacombe came from a long way back to hit the lead last week and only just failed to get the point.

The last game in the Premier League for Morley and who knows how long it could be before we see them return to the Premier League.
Another change for Morley with B. Gunson skippering for the first time in the PL. Wayne Neilson is not available due to injury.
Morley have two new skips over the past three weeks and Wayne Mangnell who did the job before that for a 3 weeks.
It is a good time to give these players a run
and the opportunity to play against class skips that OP have, it will give the players a good insight to just what is required and the skill level needed to play in this position at this level..
Perhaps Morley's best chance for a point is from John Armstrong's rink who have been extremely competitive over the past 5 games
Osborne Park have returned to top form and would like to win with the full count to ensure they retain second place which has the double chance.
With Mosman playing bottom side Cockburn every point is vital.
Good news for OP against Cambridge with the great win by Kevin Pickering's rink
who had to withstand a big challenge from the best Cambridge rink led by Trystan Smallacombe. In the first round Skipper Kevin Pickering was clearly best afield against John Armstrong and has shown on many occasions he is a class player, the players in his rink have plenty of ability and are sure to continue on with their top form of last wek
The rink of John Goddard is the second best performed rink in the competition and all players are making a huge contribution to their performance each week.
Dave Rankin's rink were surprise losers last week after a great winning run of 4 consecutive wins and would like to get back on the winners list.
Wings Evans and his rink have been extremely good and continue on with their great form, they have strength in each position and should once again come up trumps for OP
You can't go past a win for the Saints
