FINALS
A terrific final four series to be played over the coming weekend. In one of the best seasons we have experienced with the final placings not known till the final game with the 3 top sides places separated by one point.
Who would have suspected the season could finish in such an unexpected way with Osborne Park Saints claiming the prized top place in the last game of the season which now gives them the first day of the finals to be played at Osborne Pk.
How unlucky for Mosman Park to be a half point off second place while Doubleview who have been the pace setter's all season lost top spot and the home ground advantage by losing to the Millers in their last of the home and away games
Fourth placed Victoria Park zoomed home to seal their hard earned final four place in the last game
of the home and away games against a determined Wanneroo Express..

Osborne Pk will go into the finals with the same 16 that were bundled out in straight sets after finishing in top place last season(sorry but we have forgotten Pat Caffel left and Scott Edmonds took his place). No doubt there was much disappointment to have faltered at the last hurdle after dominating the home and away game last season.
There have been changes this year to the way the 16 lined up last year and it has been to good effect with the standout being the rink of Wings Evans Gary Caffell, Dave "The Big Apple" Appleton and Grant "the General" Nicol who have performed superbly
since he took over the skippers role. The rink has lost only 3 games, two those consecutively
John Goddard and his rink of Ian Payne, Bill Galloway and Gordon "One on and One back" King have been impressive and have not lost a game since the loss to Brian Calthorpe in round 8 are the best rink and are surely primed to play a big part of this final series.
David Rankin has been getting the best out of his side of Scotty Edmonds, Dingo Coleman and the ever reliable Rob Lawrence with an impressive 12 wins and are a very solid 4some
Kevin Pickering's rink of Colin Fleay, Paul Pendergast and Bob Couper have not done as well this season as last season
but they have regained some good form at the right time of the season
Doubleview PowerHouse have been the pace setters this season right up to the last game when they unexpectedly lost to the Millers to give up the prized home ground advantage and will now have to play the first day of the finals at Osborne Park.
The big question is, was this a loss for the PowerHouse to miss out playing the first day of the finals at Doubleview?
If the greens at OP are in top class condition
after the weather earlier in the week then the only loss to the PowerHouse would be the bar trade because they are no different to any other side and that is they love to play on good grass..
Players like Dennis Katunarich thrive on top class grass and we remember that it was he who played a lone hand and a devastatingly good game against Kevin Pickering in the first round game this season.
The PowerHouse owe much to the rink of Daniel Trewhella and his rink for the lofty position that DV held for the most part of the season and it is he and his rink that represent the biggest danger to OP and any other team they meet in the finals.
On top of the outstanding 16-2 wins + 200 shots I can't remember Daniel Trewhella ever losing a game in the finals.
Those stats say straightaway to put them down for a win.
John Slavich's rink have been very good performers and played their part to
back up the efforts of DT's rink.
There is not much point in taking any notice of last week effort when the rink went down quite heavily to Mark Pasalich. We are not aware of how the rink played other than Arron Delaporte gave the side a very good start, but obviously they didnt fire.
Rinks led by Dennis Katunarich have been well off the pace in terms of wins and it is rare to see his stat sheet showing a 7 wins 11 losses and a - 38 for a season's work. However we did say earlier the quicker greens are, is where the Kat really shines as a player so we can expect he and Robbie Ball will produce their best efforts
for the Powerhouse.
6/2
Danger man Daniel Trewhella will have a big say in the outcome of the finals

The Victoria ("They know we are coming") Park Reds have finally arrived after winning their last game of the season to play in the finals, the finishing line is now in full view, the $64 question is can they continue their winning run.
In the past VP have played extremely well on Osborne Park grass.
They do have some telling credits on their journey to the final four with
a great comeback win against an inform Osborne Park, they sent Cambridge crashing out of the four and were unlucky losers against Doubleview..
The season started out with several top line players missing from last seasons lineup. The Reds were the surprise packet after such losses and there were more to come before seasons end, Stu Bainbridge and James Jaworski never finished the season to put further strain on playing stocks.
Bearing this in mind plus the ill feted attempt to bolster their One Blue Sth division with AP and Graeme Wishart missing two games, one has to say that it has been a great performance for the Reds to be in a position to challenge for the Premiership flag.
Can they defeat Mosman Park ? if the weather we had earlier in the week plus the forecast of cooler weather for the finals doesn't slow the greens too much then yes they are a good possibility.
The strength of Victoria Park is their backend players who are very experienced and all have had good seasons, perhaps Thomas Mitchell has been the success story of VP since he had taken over a rink with a good 5/2/+15.
Graeme Wishart had done well this season with an often changed rink and now has a settled rink who were impressive when I last saw them play at Yokine. A great lead Gary Lockett, a solid second Wayne Butler and a brilliant 3rd Charlie McNeil and Rooster who is having a great season
Rhett Butlers rink has been
very consistent and gives VP some grunt
Mosman Park have been a revelation to the competition and might become the second side that has come into the Premeir League from One White and win the flag in their first season.
After finishing runner up to Morley in One White last season the Mosman Park guru's recruited the outstanding Matty Ellul who was the second best performed skip in the Premier League last season. Daniel Brown was another important recruit and to cap it all off World ranked indoor singles player from England, Robert Paxton signed up.
Brian Katunarich and Mick McGann were also handy signatures to aquire for the season
There was an immediate success for Mosman when they defeated the reigning Premiers Doubleview in the first game, a loss to VP in what some players have described as the best ever game of pennants they have participated in.
They rolled the Osborne Park Saints and seemed to be well on their way. Then the manure hit the fan and it seemed that Mosman were perhaps only stoked up to do well against the top sides and not teams down the ladder who started to cash in.
There have been many close games during the season for Mosman especially at home.
The rink most responsible for Mosman success so far this season has been the rink of Matt Ellul who is most certainly one of the most outstanding players in the Premier League
Steve Withers has produced good results with a 12-6 + 85 and that has helped play a role in the good performance of the Mozzies this season
Daniel Brown and his rink have contributed to the cause with 11-7 +85 while John Rainoldi has come home with a flurry of wins to become an important factor in the fortunes of the Mozzies after dropping his first 6 games.
6/2
Vic Park second Wayne Butler is all concentration as he get this bowl away in a recent game
