ROUND FIFTEEN
Wanneroo take on the Kalamunda Tigers in an important game for both clubs. A loss could be costly for either club
Cambridge Knights will throw everything into this game in an endeavour to make the finals. Dalkeith Silvertails showed last week what they are capable of doing and could be
still be in he mood
Victoria Park Reds will display their true colours against Yokine Doggies. if they don't they could be in danger of not securing the second chance in the finals. Yokine have to show last week wasn't a fluke and while there is a smidgeon of hope to avoid the cut, we can expect they will come out with all guns blazing
Osborne Park were surprisingly pushed to the limit by the SilverTails will be keen to send Sth Perth Millers home without a point.
Sth Perth Millers were surprise losers against the bottom
side will have their hands full at Osborne Park
Doubleview could be knackered after playing friday night and Saturday morning but if they win those games they could still have a spring in their step for this game
Cockburn Roosters have everything to play for and will need to ready for anything. Doubleview will have had the luxury of playing a game in the morning and Cockburn will have had only a four bowl roll up before the game starts.
Kevin Pickering has had a great season and must have been one of the best kept secrets in the Premier League when he arrived at Osborne Park.
How did a player of this talent not get recognition from the State selectors. Osborne Park's lucky day when he joined the club along with Bob Couper

Both sides here had similar games last week with one difference and that is the Saints won and Sth Perth didn't.
The Osborne Park Saints had a close call when two of their rinks were beaten, one rink just got across the line and David Rankin had a mammoth victory.
It must have been one of those days but Osborne Park boys were quick to give credit to the Silvertails for the very competitive attitude.
At home this week and playing second placed Sth Perth
will be another challenge to take on and we expect the game to be competitive
Sth Perth who are second on the ladder missed a great opportunity to nail the second place double chance when they went down to the bottom side,Yokine.
Good top sides just dont lose to the bottom side and we have to have another think about whether or not this Sth Perth 16 are as good as their performances have suggested
Some of the Miller's rinks have been showing signs of tailing off as this season starts to draw to a close.
Apart from the fact that 1st plays second, a lot of interest will centre on which of the Saint's rink will draw the best rink in the Premier League, that of Matt Elull.
In the first round John Goddard and his boy's beat Matt's rink in a terrific contest up till the 11th end and pulled away from that point on.
If Matt Elull's is tamed then the Millers have no hope of victory but having said that a win by Matt Elull is no guarantee they can win.
While the Millers have had their best season ever they will need every player playing at their top to take the big end of the points home with them
and if they do it will restore some lost faith in their ability to win the premiership

The Knights had a brilliant home ground record up to this stage of last season where they were unbeaten at home, this was acheived without Pieter Harris and David Opie.
Any side in the competition would welcome these two players with open arms. So where has it all gone wrong for the knights?
Are there enough games left to enable them to make the finals..
Wayne Maher has been a steady leader for Pieter Harris and the rink is the best performed at Cambridge so far this season

Is this the last train to Clarksville for Cambridge? They are just one game out of the four and have three tough games after this one. (Sth Perth, Cockburn and Osborne Park) This is a must win 8 pointer for the knights.
A loss will see them on that train to Clarksville!
Pieter Harris has done the best of the Cambridge skippers with his rink, The Jones Boy rink is just above average on the stat sheet, David Opie's rink is only average and Trystan Smallacombe's rink is less than average, that all adds up to the place they hold on the ladder
Only a win will on all rinks will suffice.
Dalkeith Silvertails have shown they can generate some heat when they play away. True they have won only one game away but have gone close in some of those games.
After beating Cockburn who are in a dog fight with Cambridge to get that 4th place, they followed up by trouncing the Yokine Doggies and apart from one rink were impressive against Osborne Park Saints last week.
One rink you could almost mark down for a win is Marko Krajancic who has had a great season while Luke Richardson is another who could be hard to toss.
Cambridge have to win it is as simple as that

The days have long past when this was a marquee game in the home and away season. None the less it is a critical game for both clubs with both aiming for a spot in the finals
There has been plenty of flack going around the clubs about Doubleview having so many players in the state side when they are in 8th place on the ladder.
It was a positive step forward when they beat Wanneroo at Wanneroo and now find themselves in 5th position and a game in hand
They will play Vic Park in the morning so they will be well and truly warmed up for this game
Cockburn will be at full strength for the match and did a fair job when losing to the top side Osborne Park in their last game. They also have a game in hand which will be played on sunday when they take on Cambridge.
Overall with the PowerHouse not at full strength and the fact that Cockburn did beat Doubleview twice last season I would say this will be the end of the road for the PowerHouse

The Reds will be too good for those Yokine Doggies and with the second chance in the finals up for grabs nothing less than victory will do for the Reds.
The Reds have been beaten by the other sides in the four recently and is a reminder that nothing can be taken for granted.
However one of their biggest wins for the season was against the Yokine Doggies, 103/47
Anthony Provost who had taken over Russell Hughe's rink had a good result in the first game and a not so good result in the second game losing by three shots
The Doggies stopped scratching around
last week and produced one of their finest performances to down the Sth Perth Millers and to top that off they did it with quite a few new players.
I suppose the fact that Vic Park are playing Doubleview in the morning at Doubleview
will be interesting to see how quickly that make the adjustment of playing at two different venues on the same day
What can we expect from the Doggies? Rod Heaton's rink is the best rink at Yokine and will put in a good contest, Jamie O`Keefe did well with a new rink which had first timers playing for him and to hold the top rink of Matt Elull to a 7 shot loss last week was a great effort.
Eddy Dodd's rink hit top form and could prove to be hard to roll.
While Scotty Edmonds had a huge win and maybe they have turned the corner

A huge game for both clubs, Wanneroo need the win to keep themselves on track for a place in the finals where as Kalamunda Tigers need to keep the breathing space they have to avoid demotion.
That should all add up to make an exciting contest
Last start winners Wanneroo Express have shown since the changes made to the side mid season have been an enormous benefit to the club when we see Reg Humphryson and Ted Alden taking over the skippers role and producing the goods
It is a credit to the selectors for taking the bit between their teeth to find the best players possible and position wise to play in their Premier League side.
Evidence of the good to have come out of the changes is the continued performance of Ted Aden's rink who has got hold of two biggies so far, Kevin Pickering and Anthony Provost and took the best cambridge rink to a draw. The highest losing margin in his 5 games has been 2 shots
Stein Davies rink has taken the mantle of the one to beat with a 6/6/1 record and again this rink has had changes to it in an endeavour to find balance in the overall 16
Kalamunda weren't a long way off in their game against a Doubleview PowerHouse 16 and will be looking to improve on that result can feel comfortable with the knowledge Wanneroo have the same problem as Kalmunda, the Express don't go so well playing at home.
Kalamunda on the other hand have a fair record playing away from their grass
Their best rink, Neil Payne's rink will be one of the dificulties that Wanneroo will have to overcome if they are to win the game.
The other rinks at Kalamunda have pretty average stats to show for the season so far.
If Kalamunda can produce their best game they have a good chance of victory but all to often we have seen one Kalamunda rink get blown away with a massive loss.
