Round three has some great matches in store and should make for a great round full of interest with all games important as the clubs jostle for those all important early points.

The game of the day is at Doubleview where the PowerHouse who have started out winning both opening rounds host the rejuvenated and unbeaten Wanneroo Express

Osborne Park Saints yet to win a game this season play their first home game for the season against the unpredictable Kalamunda Tigers

Cambridge another fancied side for the flag have yet to open their account play the Vic Park Reds

Dalkeith Silvertails, surprise winners last week take on the Yokine Doggies who are winless after two rounds but have plenty of potential to improve.

Sth Perth Millers won an away game last week will play the Cockburn Roosters at home. The Cockburn Roosters would still be shell shocked with last weeks result

The bowling gods have been unkind to Ron Bates in the first two games of the season.
A one shot loss to John Goddard then having to butter up to the Jones Boy who was on fire to go down by 4 shots
What will the encounter with the Doubleview PowerHouse bring

CAMBRIDGE KNIGHTS v VICTORIA PARK REDS

T. Smallacombe (sk)N. Lewis, S. Rushforth, B. Kiely
The Jones Boy (sk) T. Walsh, A. Heal, R. Bolton.

D. Opie (sk),B. Katunarich, M. McGann,G. Kane

R. Hughes (sk),S. Bainbridge, T. Valience, G. Quann
R. Butler (sk), S.Knott. W. Butler, G. Faulkner
A. Provost(sk), J. Mitchell, C. McNeil, D. Patterson

A very important game for the Cambridge Knights who are winless so far, another loss here could be very costly. Last week the Knights were smashed by the Wanneroo Express. Two rinks in particular struggled, Trystan Smallacombe's rink took an awful long time to find their feet against Stein Davies being 5/15 down after 15 ends while David Opie's rink have a question mark hanging over it after being 19/5 down on the 11th end in a game that wasn't of a high standard, Geoff "The Mailman" Ellis was high standard tho !!

Victoria Park have won both games but have not won them convincingly. Last week they just got across the line playing at home against the Saints and also had a last gasp win over the Millers.
Still, that is all you have to do, win and you get most of the points.
The Reds played the Knights three times last season and got the points on each occasion, This year the club has recruited well to be a stronger side than last season.
What will be interesting is the clash of the leaders in this game. Last week Gavin Faulkner and Daniel Patterson were both very good and gave their respective rinks a great start.
Cambridge Knights leaders Greg Kane and Ross Bolton were both good for the Knights last week, should be a great tussle if these leaders meet one and other

It does seem that the Cambridge Knights even tho they have improved their list have trouble when they play teams that have the colour Red in their outfit.

OSBORNE PARK SAINTS v KALAMUNDA TIGERS

Osborne Park Saints have lost their two opening games by very small margins which shows they are up and about and and getting great value from the John Goddard and David Rankin led rinks while the "G" team led by Gary Caffell have yet to bother the statitcian using the blue pen. They are overdue for a point.
Kevin Pickering is having a tough initition to Premier League playing as a skip and is at the moment having difficulty winning a game. Hopefully that is about to change for the Saints in this encounter.

Kalamunda Tigers are very unpredictable and we can still recall last season where they shot to a 40 shot lead on the aggregate half way thru a game at Osborne Park, the rain came down and so did that lead.
The Tiger have been competitive winning against the Dalkeith Silvertails and a small loss to the Sth Perth Millers.
Neil Payne's rink have been the strength of the Tigers so far and the club will look to his rink to lead the way, on form shown so far his rink represents danger to all Saints rinks.
All other rinks have won a game and lost a game but a worry is the aggregates of all skips and that is a clue to the strength of the Tigers.

Sth PERTH MILLERS v COCKBURN ROOSTERS

D. Brown(sk), M. Zusman, M. Sear, M. Trewhella
G. Catterick (sk), K, Cousins, P. Novak J. Galipo,

Two good showings from the Millers after two rounds have been completed and a notable win away against Kalamunda.
Sth Perth Millers at home against the Cockburn Roosters should have a huge amount of confidence playing on their carpet. They have done well with the Mat Elull led rink unbeaten so far but we notice that the best performed skip of last season Nick Reagan has yet to open his account. His successful rink has been broken up and it will be a case of starting over again.

Of course the Millers can take into this game that they dumped a stronger Cockburn side last season at home than the one that will play them on Saturday, beating the Roosters quite handsomely 88/64

So with all things being equal and the form they have displayed so far a loss would be a great disappoinment for them

Cockburn would be smarting from their inexplicable loss at home to the Dalkeith Silvertails.
What or how could a side such as Cockburn playing at home find three rinks down by the margins they were down 19/1, 14/1 and 8/1.
It is hard to understand how a side playing on their home greens could be that far down into a game.

Were they switched on, did some of the players subconsciously think "Ah well it's only the Silvertails" .

The great fightback from the SteveSrhoy led rink shows once again they are never beaten and Daniel Brown's rink looks to be a very solid unit and will take some stacking. New Player Marcus Sears is playing superb bowls as a second in his first season of Premier League

Last week was a win Cockburn would have had penciled in at the start of the season and it was a shock result to all and sundry.
The pressure is the rink of Gary Catterick which appears to be on struggle street, the club cannot afford to have this rink turning in these type of results if they wish to play in the finals.
The carpet could present problems for the Roosters

YOKINE DOGGIES v DALKEITH SILVERTAILS

R. Heaton,(sk) , I. Cooper,S.Sloan , J. McGrath
S. Edmonds (sk) J. Carter, lee Farrell, I. Coghill
E. Dodd(sk) A. Davis, M. Lemos, J. Lorencs
J. O'Keefe (sk), R. Rewko, A. Durrant, W. Coffey

-------------------------versus

M. Krajancic(sk)J. Morgan R. Donald, V. Colley
T. Skoric (sk), L. Richardson, W. Tan, S. Back
P. Bacich (sk),M. Lindsay V. Santostefano, P.Gason T.Williams(sk),J.McIntosh,R.MitchellJ.McCormack.

These two sides were promoted from One White last season and both have had varying starts.
The Yokine Doggies are yet to record a win but have been unlucky in as much that one rink has been smashed in both games, that of Rod Heaton who now have a deficit of minus 53 shots.

The other rinks have been good, Eddy Dodd and his rink have done every thing but win and Yokine would be more than pleased with he and his rink's performance so far this season.
Scotty Edmonds and Jamie O`Keefe have both been very competitive and on that basis have given the Doggies a lot of hope in the future games.

The Dalkeith Silvertails stunned the bowling world with their totally unexpected win against Cockburn last week and even more stunning was the fact that three rinks led by huge margins totaling 41 shots to 3. Unbelievable you might think.

Ok so what Dalkeith side is going to turn up at Yokine, the one that delivered the goods against Cockburn and that toyed with all sides in One White last year or the one that played Kalamunda?

The bowling world waits and watches to see what way the Silvertails travel from here.
Last year in the finals the Silvertails were beaten by the Doggies and lost their chance of winning a pennant. With only one recognised recruit added to their list (Luke Richardson) nothing has changed where as the Doggies have changed their side quite significantly and have three rinks doing their bit to help the Doggies cause.

G. Ellis (sk), P. Knight, D. Triffit, H. Ward

All aboard the Wanneroo Express!! 12.30 PM special trip trip to Doubleview.
Yes sir this is the game of the round where these two undefeated sides lock horns in a battle for supremacy to lead the competition
The PowerHouse won handsomely against the Knights and last week, relied heavily on the rink of John Slavich to get them across the line against the Doggies.
Kyle McIlroy's rink were swamped and would need a lift this week if they are to record their first win of the season.
James Jaworski's rink have not been convincing while John Slavich's rink have done all they have had to do

The Wanneroo Express are where they would like to be and have shown plenty of spirit and a bit of the Express of 2006.
This is there first away game for the season having played the first two at home

Geoff "The Mailman" is in tip top touch and will be a handful for who ever he plays. I have been asked to get some stats on

The Wanneroo Wizard Clive Adams can't win or lose so far this season would be kicking himself for letting last week's game end in a draw after being in a commanding position on end eleven 14/5.
However the rink is playing extremely well with all players contributing and if that form is presented to the PowerHouse surely the point will be theirs.

Ron Bates rink can go better yet, a player or two are settling in and are capable of better performances. However looking at who his rink have drawn in the past two games and getting close to a win is all positive. The trouble is Doubleview rinks should all be hard to toss so it wll be another hard day at the office for the rink.
Stein Davies and his boys were extremely good last week to clean up Trystan Smallacombe's rink and if they can maintain the rage they will be very hard to beat.
