Sth PERTH MILLERS v KALAMUNDA TIGERS

------------------------- VERSUS

An important game for both sides and a game that the Sth Perth Millers would not be taking lightly, after all the Tigers did win on the Sth Perth carpet last season.

A factor for Kalamunda is a lot of there players do practice on carpet so there will be no worries for them playing on the Sth Perth Carpet.

It was noticeable that both clubs were well represented in the just completed (almost) State events and speaks volumes for the skill of these players

The Sth Perth Millers could be singing an old song that I recall, it goes like.
" I'm sitting on top top of the world, just rolling along, just singing our song ".

Well they are in second place and they have plenty to sing about at the moment with some pretty impressive notches on the their belts.

Last up effort against the Vic Park Reds was first class and underlined how far the group has come in their development and have to be taken seriously as a genuine premiership contender. All rinks were good and it is great to see Nick Reagan the man who has bowled the bowl of the decade to win his way into the State Pairs final recording an important win in his last outing and maybe at last his rink has turned the corner.

Kalamunda did win last week against the Dalkeith Silvertails but gee whiz !! to beat the bottom side by 3 shots on your own grass raises questions about where they are going.

Sth PERTH MILLERS 00 (0) Versus KALAMUNDA TIGERS 00 (0)
PLAYED AT SOUTH PERTH

R. Bresland(sk), B. Bandy, D. Bandy, S. Kelly----------------------7/3 + 34 shots
B.Brandsma(sk), F. Anderson E. Sydenham, P. Coyle, -----------5/5 - 50

Ross Bresland's rink have a healthy win ratio and a nice aggregate of shots up to show for their seasons' effort so far and last game the rink polished off State skipper Russell Hughes and his rink by a whopping 25 shots which is about as an emphatic win as you would get.
Billy Brandsma rink are a puzzle because we see here that the rink has 5 wins which is good and the minus 50 which is bad. The rinks last big defeat came at the hands of Russell Hughes, since then the rink has been competitive with 2 wins and one loss.
If Kalamunda are to win the overall aggregate they must beat this rink and I don't think they can
Form say ROSS BRESLAND to win

M.Elull(sk), F. Carbone, M.Trojack, M. Hughes, ------------------9/1 + 81 shots
M.Biglin(sk)S. O`Neil, Price, J.Wardrop-------------------.-------4/6 - 2
Matt Elull and his rink are one of the powerhouses of the premier division and with their record it suggests they will win this rink contest.
Last start winners they shut down the rink of Anthony Provost who had been traveling well and were and are the 4th best performed rink in the Premier League

Mitch Biglin's rink had a huge win against Tony Skoric and there is no way we would detract from the win but there will be a huge difference between Tony Skoric's rink and Matt Elull and his rink
For Mitch who is a member of the current State Triples winner and I must compliment Mitch for the game he played in the final, to win this rink contest will be the biggest upset of the season
MATT ELULL to win

Merv Hughes doing a great job leading for Matt Elull the rink is the 3rd best performed in the Premier League and responsible for Sth Perth's rise up the ladder
-------------Merv Hughes

S. Walker (sk), K. Pride,G. Reagan , D. Lyons--------------.---------2/2 + 5 shots
N. Payne (sk),V. Beckley , R. Pringle, P. Nattalotto
-----------------6/4 + 16

An interesting contest between Scott and Neale who have been team mates in the past. Scott Walker and his rink have gone ok and what is pleasing is they have kept the games tight with no score blow outs. Unlucky to lose one of those games to Daniel Trewhella on the last bowl of the day when holding game.
Last game was good with only a 5 shot loss to Rhett Butler who has beefed his rink up.
Neil Payne's rink are the number one rink at Tigerland really got belted in their last game by Luke Richardson but apart from that they have been steady and leading the way. The arrival of Vince Beckley has seen the rink doing well and I expect they will be hard to beat in this contest
Neil Payne to win

N. Reagan (sk) S. Lunn, S. Hamilton, G. Pauling------------------3/6/1/ - 30
N. Griffin (sk),R. Eddy J. Morss, T. Dellar,
-------------------------4/6 - 8
This is the best rink contest in this game, both rinks have similar stats for the season.
Nick Reagan and his boys were good winners in their last game defeating Wishart's rink at Vic Park. Nick's rink generally has been struggling for the most part of the season and after several positional and player changes it appears that this is the rink that will remain intact for the remainder of the season.

Neale Griffin's rink has been winning since Rick Eddy has played as a three but they copped a good going over from Marko Krajancic and speaking with a Kalamunda contact he said " Sherro we were simply beaten by a better rink on the day and there is no excuses for us, they were just to good but watch out for us, we will be back".

A revitalized Sth Perth Miller foursome to continue on their good form of last week
NICK REAGAN TO WIN
