OSBORNE PARK SAINTS 88 (7) def KALAMUNDA TIGERS 68 (1)
PLAYED AT KALAMUNDA
This game went as expected and the win has kept Osborne Park well in front on the ladder. The Ossy Park boys said the green was pretty good, giving them no worries and was good to play on.
John Goddard and his rink who were beaten for the first time this season last week bounced back with a handy win against the up and down rink of Mitch Biglin and now returns to head the best performed rinks list
Gary Caffell and his rink continued on from their great form of last week to topple Neale Griffin's rink.
The only winner for the Tigers was Neil Payne's rink who had played David Rankin's rink in the first round and went down by 2 shots in that game.
In today's game it was David's turn to come from behind. Neil Payne led 16/2 on the 11th end and it was from here that the Ossy Park boys staged a big comeback to go down by 3 shots.
I had earlier in the year interviewed Dave Rankin and asked him who was the toughest/hardest/best skipper he had encountered after the 8th round had been played. The answer came without hesitation, NEIL PAYNE !

DOUBLEVIEW POWERHOUSE 85 (6 ) def WANNEROO EXPRESS 75 (2)
PLAYED AT WANNEROO
The Doubleview Powerhouse have been woeful this season and have been copping it from all quarters of the bowls world. Here was an opportunity to say hang on a minute.
This is a good win and it can be put down to the rink of Daniel Trewhella who got hold of Stein Davies Rink to set up this win while John Slavich's rink got over the line by 2 shots against a very competitive rink of new skip Ted Alden
Clive Adams with his new third Shaun Donohoe got the better of Robbie Ball's side to give the Express some hope.
Reg Humphryson is getting the best out of his rink and it is no easy task to roll the big Kat and his rink.

COCKBURN ROOSTERS 74 (7 ) def Sth PERTH MILLERS 68 (1 ) def
PLAYED AT COCKBURN
Sherro thought the Cockburn grass would be against the Sth Perth Millers but the Sth Perth Boys said the green was very good to play on and were beaten by the better side on the day.
This is an important win for Cockburn who have squandered big points in their last two games. A loss would have almost been the end of the season for them.
The big news apart from Cockburn win, was Gary Carberry's rink defeating the top rink in the Premier League, that of the highly rated Matt Elull. It was a last end affair, and quite an achievement to for Gary's rink to 20/18.
Two draws in the game was another factor for Cockburn when Steve Srhoy's rink came back from last week's drubbing
and new skip A. Jones who took the 5th top rink all the way to draw with Ross Bresland and his rink.
The rink to do the damage was that of Mike Zusman who returned after a week's absence to record a win in a great game of lawn bowls against Scotty Walker who had been crunched badly the week before. Mike Zusman played very well for Cockburn and Glen Pauling was the man who caused the most problems for Cockburn.

DALKEITH 119 (8 ) def YOKINE DOGGIES 63 (0)
PLAYED AT DALKEITH
It goes to show that the season ain't over till it's over and we see a rejuvenated Dalkeith Silvertails win the second game at home this season. Last week a big win over Cockburn also at home making it two on the trot for the Silvertails.
Big games from the Tony Skoric rink who had been winless for the whole season and followed up on last week's huge win against Steve Srhoy's rink by giving it to Jamie O`Keefe and his rink. Jamie had returned to skipper after a break playing three for 3 games .
The other big winner was that of the "The Saint" John McIntosh who we remember in his 3rd game as as a skip in the Premier League copped a beauty from a Victoria Park rink. Well good things come to those who persevere and to beat Eddy Dodd's rink by so many is quite a surprise, this will no doubt spur the "Saints' rink onto a greater effort
in coming games.
Probably the biggest win of this round was that of Peter Baccich and his rink who had the hardest job of any rink and that was to take care of business against the highly rated rink of Rocket Heaton who had won their last 5 games straight.
It is no easy task to achieve and well done to Peter and his rink.
Marko Krajancic defeated State Pairs Champ and State Singles runner up Scott Edmonds and his rink comfortably.

VICTORIA PARK REDS 102 (7 ) def CAMBRIDGE KNIGHTS 67 (1)
PLAYED AT VIC PARK
Most would have selected the Reds in the tipping comp and they didnt let the tipsters down with a massive win against a lame Cambridge Knights and the win now squares the ledger at 1 win apeice for the season.
After last week's impressive losing display against Osborne Park Saints it shows there is a fairly wide gulf between the Saints/Reds and the the rest of the competition
Anthony Provost took over Russell Hughes rink and had a huge win over David Opie's rink. The front two players who had been hammered the week before had swapped positions.
Rhett Butler did the job on Trystan Smallacombe and word to come from this game was Chris Lander was best for Cambridge.
Pieter Harris was the only rink to fly the flag for Cambridge with a 2 shot win against new skip Jeff Mitchell.
