SCROLL DOWN FOR SCORES
It was a massacre out at the Kennel today when Yokine found out where they stand in the big time after the Victoria Park Reds blitz them in spectacular fashion.

Cockburn Roosters roar back into life after a surprise win against arch rivals the Doubleview PowerHouse.

Wanneroo travel up the hill and take 7 points down the hill against the Kalamunda Tigers

Cambridge came, saw, and conquered the Dalkeith Silvertails and we did expect that to happen

Second placed Osborne Park romp away with a good win against league leaders Sth Perth and now are in top position on the ladder

The Millers Matt Elull going head to head with John Goddard in their battle for supremecy, both skips undefeated going into this game had a battle royal with John Goddard's rink taking the honours in a terrific contest and now are one of two rinks yet to be beaten

VICTORIA PARK REDS 103 (8) def YOKINE DOGGIES 47 (0)
PLAYED AT YOKINE.

Victoria Park Reds fresh from their huge win against Wanneroo were expected to win against the Yokine Doggies who were on their last yelp so to say. With a couple of players missing for the Doggies it was almost mission impossible to begin with and ended with a loss worse that the bombing of Dresden in world war two.

It is hard to understand that the Doggies could lose by so much with so much at stake but they have.
The win was setup by Anthony Provost and his rink who belted the daylights out of Yokine's best performed rink, that of Jamie O`Keefe

Russell Hughes and his rink are going from strength to strength with another solid victory, this time against State selector John Carter who skipped for the first time in this league.

Rhett Butler regained some lost ground to win his second game this year against the impressive Eddy Dodd led rink

Best performed rink for the Doggies was that of Scotty Edmonds who went down by four to G. Wishart

OSBORNE Pk SAINTS 96 (7) def Sth PERTH MILLERS 66 (1)
PLAYED AT SOUTH PERTH
It doesn't get much better than this watching the two top sides going head to head and even better when we see the two top unbeaten rinks in the competition meet one and other in the rink clash of the round.
Osborne Park have been cranking up and up and are right on top of their game at the moment with four first class rinks who don't give an inch. Playing on the carpet would be a challenge let alone playing the carpet Kings Sth Perth.
Sth Perth would have been confident and had every right to be after 4 straight wins and sitting pretty at the top of the table.
With everything to play for the contest started out in brilliant fashion with plenty of good bowls and encouragement from both sides

G. Caffell (sk), D. Appleton, G. King, G. Nicol, G. Ni----------24
R. Bresland(sk), B. Bandy, D. Bandy, S. Kelly------------------16
The 3 "Gs" and a "D" were a bit to hot to handle for Ross Bresland and his boys who have had a good season so far

D. Rankin (sk),P. Caffell,R. Lawrence, J. Coleman
-------------26
S. Lunn(sk), G. Reagan ,S. Walker, T. Percival-
----------------12
David Rankin and his rink came into this game undefeated and if they could pick up from where they left of last week another win was surely on the cards.
Steve Lunn's rink haven't won a home game and to draw this rink would be the sternest of challenges for them.

Steve Lunn and his rink got away to a good start and led 8/4 on the 5th end and were looking good. It was from here that Dave Rankin's rink started to play some razzle dazzle and by the 11th end they led 10/8. There were plenty of good bowls played by both sides and while I was not able to watch the game it was noticeable that the boys on Dave Rankin's rink were often congratulating him on his fine shot play .
The game kept slipping away from Steve Lunn and his rink to be finally beaten 26/ 12

J. Goddard (sk) I. Payne B. Galloway, P. Pendergast---------24
M.Elull(sk), F. Carbone, M.Trojack, M. Hughes, --------------14
The game started out brilliantly and none were more brilliant than Bill Galloway who continually had both bowls on the jack and when the Dalkeith report man suggested he was the best second in the State it would be very hard to disagree. Matt Elull played some outstanding bowls to keep things in check when the pressure was right on and I must say this young fellah is no ordinary player and knows what it is all about and how to play. He was always an encouraging skipper to his side which was a good feature of his leadership.

Both leads were doing well while Mike Trojack playing two was another to stand out with several telling bowls and looks set for a good long career in the Premier League.
As always Ian Payne was playing a strong game as the third. Frank Carbone was making his presence felt with plenty of class bowls
John Goddard is the right man to be holding the last two bowls in any team and it is rare that he wastes a bowl
This game was as good as you could expect it to be and neither rink could break away. When I had left I was in awe of the standard of this game and it would be easy to watch bowls of this calibre each week.
Well when we look at the final score it shows 24/14 and it appears that the Miller boys cracked under the constant pressure of the contest and that is what it was in the part that I watched, pressure pressure and more pressure, no end was won without the head changing from upon to down and up again.

K. Pickering(sk) C. Fleay, DiGuiseppe,Couper----------------22
N. Reagan (sk) K. Pride, S. Hamilton, G. Pauling-----------24
I was able to see some of this game and would have to say that Kevin Pickering and his rink were on top or shall we say held the whip hand with better bowls more often than Nick Reagan's rink during the time I was there.
When I left the score was 18/11 in favour of Kevin Pickering's rink and unless something changed dramatically Nick Reagan would register their fifth loss for the season.

Bob Couper hails from Dowerin has been a fine recruit for the Saints played a beauty today
----------------------Bob Couper
Well something did change dramatically. The last end to be played saw Kev and his rink leading 22/17 when they dropped a big big big 7 to lose by 2 shots.
Probably the worst thing about dropping this 7 was kevin finished quite short with his last bowl and as we all know if your bowl don't reach the head nothing happens.
As one could imagine how happy Nick Reagan and his boys would feel to not only win when it looked like they wouldn't, but to have registered their first win for the season and that would be a huge relief for them
Best players were new player for Osborne Park, Leader Bob Couper who did a great job all day and Glen Pauling for Sth Perth. Another who had an impact was Colin Fleay playing three and new chum Scott Hamilton who played his second game in Premier League

--------Glen Pauling played a great leaders game today in his rink's exciting win

PLAYED AT COCKBURN
COCKBURN ROOSTERS 80 (6.5 ) def DOUBLEVIEW POWERHOUSE 72 (1.5 )

Doubleview PowerHouse were overwhelming favourites to win this game against an undermanned and performed Cockburn Roosters, a nice game for them to make up some ground after 2 surprise losses and after the win a nice trip all the way back to Doubleview with a couple of coldies to celebrate.

This was a game also that Cockburn had to salvage something of their season and if it was to happen then today was the time to make a start. Well things looked bleak if the Roosters were thinking of a win because last week's hero Matt Kurta was not available to play.

Step up Mike Zusman to take the skippers reigns, Mike incidentally has not played in a losing side so far this season with today's win making it 6 straight so far. Zussy is no stranger to the skippers role and generally had been a mr fixit for the Roosters over the years
His rink had a solid win against Kyle McIlroy to lead the way for the Roosters.

D. Brown (sk), K. Cousens, W. Tepania, M. Trewhella--------18
D. Trewhella(sk),D. Katunarich, J. Barry,J. Bausor ---------15
This is a big win for Daniel Brown and his boys to roll such a strong four.

S. Srhoy(sk), G. Catterick , M. Sokol.M. Muslin----------------22
P. Buller (sk), L. Thorn, D. Slavich, P.Ker, ----------------------22
This game was in the bag for Steve "The Slammer" Srhoy when he led for the most part of the game and went in to the last end 5 shots ahead of Pat"BullsEye " Buller and the game ended in a draw,

M. Zusman (sk), S. Perica J. Galipo,Perry Sardelic-Perry------22
K. McIlroy (sk), A. Delaporte, M. Mitchell,G.Nelson---.---------12

G. Carberry(sk), S. Cerff, J, Trewhella, S. West ----------------18
J Slavich (sk),C Slavich,R. Barns, C.Tunstall-------------------23
John Slavich's rink is the only rink standing up for the PowerHouse and along with his brother playing three they have done good along with Roger Barns and Cameron Tunstall

.

CAMBRIDGE KNIGHTS 92 (6.5 ) def DALKEITH SILVERTAILS 64 (1.5)
PLAYED AT DALKEITH

This game went as we thought it would with Cambridge expecting a win. Dalkeith are trying hard but the truth of the matter is they are a fair way behind the top sides in skill and ability.

T. Smallacombe (sk)N. Lewis, S. Rushforth, B. Kiely--------------19
T.Williams(sk),V. Santostefano, R. Mitchell, R. McKenzie-------.20
Tom Williams and his rink showed last week that they are a side with plenty of upside and their win against Trystan Smallacombe is not a surprise at all. I don't have any feedback on the game. For Trystan is is his third loss and this is the second loss the rink has had by one shot.

P. Harris (sk), C. Lander,R. Stockton, W. Maher-------------------26
T. Skoric (sk), M. Lindsay,W. Tan, S. Back-------------------------13

Pieter Harris has a good solid rink who have now gelled together and now present themselves as one of the better rinks in the competition.

Tony Skoric's rink were right under the pump last week and it seems to be the case once again even with a rink switch where we see Mark Lindsay who was outstanding last week involved in the change

D. Opie (sk), M. McGann,B. Katunarich, G. Kane-------------------26
L. Richardson(sk)J. McIntosh, J.O`Meehan,J.McCormack---.----10
Only word we have is that David Opie had a blinder. He and his rink have settled down since the positional change .
I am surprised to see Luke Richardson's rink go down by that score after seeing them in action last week where their rink played a terrific game.

The Jones Boy (sk) A. Heal, T. Walsh, , R. Bolton------------------21
M. Krajancic(sk) J. Morgan R. Donald, V. Colley
-------------------21

Third best rink in the Premier League took on Marko Krajancic and his rink who did a good job last week losing to John Goddard
Marko and his boys got away to lead 15/0, that is right 15/0 . From there on, the Cambridge boys rolled up the sleeves and came back hard to force a draw.
The word was Marko Krajancic played a sensational game for his rink

.

WANNEROO EXPRESS 99 (7 ) def KALAMUNDA TIGERS 69 (1 ) def
PLAYED AT KALAMUNDA
Kalamunda came into this game on the back of a great victory last week against the Doubleview PowerHouse. They have every reason to be confident with home ground advantage and the memory of last seasons win against the Wanneroo Express. Wanneroo on the other hand have come up the hill ready to do the business but without their number one gun Geoff Ellis, who was unavailable for this game.
With every thing in their favour and more so because of the absence of Geoff Ellis Kalamunda could not win the big end of the points while on two rinks their loss's were small.
The win was setup by the replacement skip Reg Humphryson and his boys who smashed the well performed rink in recent times, that of Billy Brandsma by a whopping 26 shots.
Ron Bates and his rink have broken thru for their first win of the season and that would be a relief for them to finally getthe job done.
Stein Davies has had a close game and got across the line beating Neale Griffin by 4 shots. Stein and his rink are starting to string some wins together to be a force in the competition.
Neil Payne's rink has kept on with the job with a good win against a revamped Clive Adams rink
The loss by Kalamunda Tigers leaves them with plenty of work to do and they will rely on beating the bottom sides to avoid demotion.
Wanneroo would have been happy with the win and it keeps them in the mix for a place in the final four. Next week's game against Cockburn should be an interesting game with a win of paramount importance fopr both sides.

Kalamunda dont have a lot to look forward to next week when they take on the Vic Park Reds
