November 22, 2008
In a round that promised plenty it was ruined by rain that fell heavily about 1. 40 PM. and continued on for about an hour forcing greens to be closed at Yokine and Victoria Park.
However all was not lost because three games in the round were completed.
It is great for the competition to see Wanneroo and Sth Perth sitting at the top of table. Now we will wait and see if they can hold on to these hard earned positions.

Osborne Park have been big movers and are now in 4th place while Cambridge have also started to show their strength into a prominent position and starting to look ominous
There are just 5 points between 1st and 6th

One of the big questions in this round was regarding the Vic Park Reds as to whether or not James Jaworski after his shock decision to quit the PowerHouse earlier in the week would play in the Reds team today and what position would he have played.
We have the answer to that, James was selected to play as a two for Rhett Butler.

Cambridge Knights put on a great display to take home seven points against the Kalamunda Tigers

Osborne Pk Saints take out the bigend of the points to really put the Roosters on the back foot with things looking bleak down at the wind tunnel

Sth Perth Millers too strong for the Silvertails and are building up nicely for a crack at staying in the four. This win put the Millers into second place. However they do have some very tough games to come in this round

Billy Brandsma returned to the winners list with a narrow win against Trystan Smallacombe at Kalamunda today

PLAYED AT COCKBURN
OSBORNE PARK SAINTS 87 (6.5 ) def
COCKBURN ROOSTERS 67 (1.5)
Osborne Park were favourites to win this game against Cockburn who had lost two games on the trot. Last years Premiers are going well and we see again that the awesome foursome have helped setup the win by defeating the Slammer Steve Srhoy's rink quite comfortably.

G. Caffell (sk), G. Evans,, G. Nicol, G. King---------------------12
G. Carberry(sk), S. Cerff, J, Ravlich, M. Muslin
----------------18
Gary Carberry's rink appeared to have lost their way after a brilliant first up performance against Yokine and here we see they have got hold of the "G" team to record the Roosters only win. Word to come out of this game was the great form shown by Steve Cerff who has played many a fine game over the years for the Roosters. Gary Carberry also had some impact on the game with some telling drives.

J. Goddard (sk) I. Payne B. Galloway, R. Cox
-----------------26
S. Srhoy(sk), J. Trewhella, S. Perica, M. Sokol----------------13
Another telling win here for John Goddard who we heard had played some big bombs thru the game and Bill Galloway also who had a very good game today and that is not surprising after seeing many of his good bowls last week

D. Rankin (sk),P. Caffell,R.Lawrence, J. Coleman------------23
D. Brown(sk), M. Zusman, S, Venables, M. Trewhella
--------23
What a contest here, both unbeaten so far this season and we see a draw. What we have heard is Matt Trewhella had a terrific day. Both rinks have come awfully close to a loss. Daniel last week drew after holding a 5 shot lead 4 ends from home. David's rink led 13/2 and just held off a fast finishing Neil Payne.

K.Pickering(sk)C. Fleay, DiGuiseppe,Couper
-----------.-----28
G. Catterick (sk), K, Cousins, W. Tepania J. Galipo---.------13
Kevin Pickering's rink has bought home the bacon for the Saints with a very good win. Word is Colin Fleay who joined Osborne Park this season played a burst er to help in this victory.
Gary Catterick

PLAYED AT KALAMUNDA
CAMBRIDGE KNIGHTS 86 (7 ) def
KALAMUNDA TIGERS 63 (1)
Cambridge Knights were impressive winners last week and were the obvious favourites to win against Kalamunda Tigers. The big question was could at least two of their rinks (N. Payne and Neale griffin) cause a problem after last week great effort against OP. Unfortunetly they could not but Billy Brandsma did

D. Opie (sk), M. McGann,B. Katunarich, G. Kane----------------24
N. Payne (sk), S. O`Neil, E. Sydenham, R. Payne----------------12
probably a bit of a surprise considering how David Opie's rink has been traveling so far this season and Neil Payne's rink has been extra good. The score shows it was a comfy win

T. Smallacombe (sk)N. Lewis, S. Rushforth, B. Kiely-----------18
B.Brandsma(sk), P. Coyle, M. Clancy, R. Eddy-------------------19
Now here is a turnaround of huge proportions, last week this rink was outclassed with the exception of the skipper Billy Brandsma. To be fair it was hard last week in the conditions. Here we see them get hold of a Trystan Smallacombe's rink who haven't seemed to be in their best form so far this season.

-------Rick Eddy returned to play for Kalamunda this season delivers a ripper
------Rick Eddy
Rick Eddy in action here leading for Billy Brandsma in their tough encounter against Trystan Smallacombe which they won by just the one shot

P. Harris (sk), C. Lander,R. Stockton, W. Maher ---------------21
N. Griffin (sk),J. Morss, T. Dellar, P. Natalotto-----------------15
Well I thought Neale Griffin's rink would be hard to toss after seeing them last week, they were sooooooo good. Well we see Neale's rink were leading Pieter Harris's rink a merry dance and had a good lead 14/4. I would not be surprised at that because of last week. However as we found out at Wanneroo that the Pieter Harris led rink is never beaten and they came back hard once again to snatch victory winning 21/15.

The Jones Boy (sk) A. Heal, T. Walsh, R. Bolton.--------------- 23
M.Biglin(sk)F.Anderson,JohnWardrop,M. Douthie------------17

The Jones boy rink also had a positional change this week, Aj Heal and Tony Walsh swapped positions and another win has resulted for the rink.
Mitch Biglin's rink were over run last week and they have done better in this game

PLAYED AT DALKEITH
Sth PERTH MILLERS 75 (6.5) def
DALKEITH SILVERTAILS 69 (1.5)
An important game for both sides with a lot hanging off it. The score line shows a close result but it was Ross Bresland and his rink doing the damage with his 8 shot win against Tom Williams.
Another important factor in the win was the Millers won away from home making it 2 from 2 wins away.
The Silvertails needed this win and the loss pushes them into the twilight zone. At the moment there doesn't seem any place to go for them, hope we are wrong

S. Lunn(sk), K. Pride, G. Reagan, T. Percival-------------------19
M. Krajancic(sk)R. Mitchell R. Donald, V. Colley-
-------------19
Good effort here by Steve Lunn and his rink to draw with Marko but what a comeback for Marko and the boys after finding themselves down 0/14,

M.Elull(sk), F. Carbone, M.Trojack, M. Hughes--------------.--18
T. Skoric (sk), V. Santostefano,W. Tan, S. Back----------.-----15
Matt Elull have produced the goods and won again making it 4 on the trot. However there was a scare for his rink. Tony Skoric and his rink were down 1/12.

N. Reagan(sk), S. Walker,N. Rees, G. Pauling ------------------18
L.Richardson(sk)J.McIntosh,J.O`Meehan,J.McCormack-----23
Luke Richardson makes it two in a row to leave Nick Reagan winless for the season and what a change of fortunes for Nick after a brilliant season last year where he lost just 5 games.

R. Bresland(sk), B. Bandy, D. Bandy, S. Kelly-------------------20
T.Williams(sk),M.Lindsay,J. Morgan.,P. Bacich------.--------12
Ross Bresland has started the season extremely well and after this win has 3 from 4 starts in the bag.
