ROUND 18
Big game on at Cockburn where we see the Cockburn Roosters making a last ditch effort to make the final four when they play the rampaging Osborne Park Saints.
Victoria Park Reds travel to Sth Perth knowing victory will ensure they play next week in the final
Bedford have a remote chance to save themselves from demotion when the play the Wanneroo Express at Wanneroo
Doubleview play the Melville Magic at Melville in a night game need a win to keep the top position which will mean they play the first day of the finals at Doubleview.
Cambridge Knights play Kalamunda at Cambridge in game that means much to both sides.
--------David Rankin has a great delivery
--
Top class player David Rankin returned from N.Z this season has been a welcome addition to the strong Osborne Park 16.
David skippered a side that made it to the semi-final of the State Triples this season and also was selected to be a State squad member.
A place in the State side can't be to far away for this talented player.

Cockburn have again stunned the bowling world with their never say die approach after the last weekend double header where they accounted for the reigning premiers the Doubleview PowerHouse and if that wasn't enough, the journey to Victoria Park netted them another 6 handy points.
In both of these games the Roosters would have been under dogs and a loss was goodbye to the finals.
The $64 question is can they beat the mighty Saints, HHmmm form say yes, ability says yes but even a win may not be enough to get them into the final four. All depends on the score here in this game and the score at Sth Perth between the Millers and the Reds.
There is a buzz in the camp at Cockburn with all players knowing this game is bigger than big, it is their final and the only result that counts is a win.
Such is the importance of this game Daniel Brown who was to go to a wedding he has made a tough decision to not go and instead play for the club in what could be a make or break game for the club.
The Cockburn Roosters will be looking for Lance Strahan and Steve Shroy led rinks to be at their best for this game, while Gary Carberry will be looking for his first win as a skip this season
The Saints have to win this game, no if's, no buts, they hold second place on the ladder, a win will ensure they get the double chance, a loss could see them in the cut throat first semi final
Osborne Park have been in terrific form firstly thumping Kalamunda at Kalamunda and followed up with a huge win against the Cambridge Knights where they smashed them to the tune of 118/52.
The Saints have the firepower to go all the way against Cockburn with all rinks doing a Frank Sinatra by doing it their way over the past 5 games where they have collected 28.5 points from these matches and must be near their peak for the finals.
With both sides on fire and not forgetting the great effort by Cockburn to win against N.S.W State side emphasizes how hard it is to win on Cockburn grass.
It is a game once again that can have the tag of the irresistible force versus the immoveable object. Who will be pushed aside ???
This should be the game of the season so far.

Here is the game that could decide the fate of Victoria Park as to whether or not they make the final. The best thing to happen is for them is to win because a loss might see their season evaporate in this game.
The Reds have lost 6 rinks in their last two games which has placed them in the position they face in the last game of the season.
The biggest challenge taking on their close neighbors will be to win on the Millers carpet, most visiting clubs have had difficulty getting a winning result
Sth Perth Millers will be having a real go in this game tho their last effort against the PowerHouse wasn't all that flash with 2 rinks being taken to the cleaners well and truly.
We know that at least 2 Miller rinks will be ultra competitive, one in particular that of Nick Reagan who has a great stat sheet.
With nothing else to play for other than pride in their performance and to build on for next season can the Millers overcome a side that is in the four and wants to keep it. At home they are a very good 16. On this occasion I don't think so

The Osborne Park Saints well and truly turned the lights out on the Knights last sunday where we saw the Knights cop an absolute thrashing. I am sure that the knights will have put that out of their minds, every game is a new game
Cambridge have to win to give themselves a chance to grab second spot and they will have to have all rinks winning if they are to overcome the 6 point advantage that the Saints have over them on the premiership table. The Cambridge Knights will also be hoping Cockburn will defeat the Saints in that game.
Kalamunda surprised all and sundry with their huge win against the Wanneroo Express and one performance in that game to stand out was that of skipper Neil Payne who played a blinder to defeat the strong rink of Geoff Ellis.
Another surprise win was that of Neale Griffin who defeated new skip Ted Alden 30/11 to record his rinks 4th win of the season.
I don't think Kalamunda can mount a serious challenge on the Knights carpet but they must win on two rinks to ensure they stay in the Premier League.
Can they do it ? maybe.

S. Rushforth(sk) K. Burke, Paul Hunter, P. Hunter
Bedford are 5 points behind Kalamunda on the premiership table with this game being the last for the season. An 8 pointer will save Bedford from demotion.
Last week with everything to play for Bedford let themselves down badly with two huge rink losses, they being the Cliff Graybrook and Barry Gartrell led rinks who were smashed.
Steve Rushforth's rink continues to impress while Stu Bainbridge's rink are normally dangerous.
For Wanneroo their only interest here is to have a game of bowls where there is no pressure what so ever on them. Tho most people would have been surprised that they were so easily pushed aside by Kalamunda last week where they came back to the club house with only 1 point to show for their effort.
Wanneroo being Wanneroo will still have pride in their performance knowing that much depends on the result of this game will certainly be having a crack in this game.

This game will be played on friday night so players can attend the big footy game between the Dockers and the West Coast.
There is no real interest in this contest other than the PowerHouse need to win the game to make certain of holding top position so that the first day of the finals will be played at Doubleview.
