Another important round of fixtures, particuarlaly for Wanneroo, Melville and Osborne Park
Cockburn take on the Cambrige Knights in what is the game of the day. Can a full strength Cockburn at home beat the Knights ? This Should be a terrific contest
Bedford Bulls in the firing line against the Vic Park Reds have made more changes to their 16.
Sth Perth Millers at home to a revitalized Kalamunda in an interesting game
Melville Magic have a bit of a show against the Osborne Park Saints who simpy can't afford a loss
The Wanneroo Express need a win and are an outside chance to roll the Doubleview PowerHouse.
-----Ken Pride gets his bowl away perfectly
---
Ken Pride Sth Perth in his first season in the Premier League and playing skipper. Ken would be happy that the club is doing reasonably well so far and will be looking to do better in the second round

B. Katunarich (sk) M. McGann, J. Mobilia ,D.Irvin
----------------------Greg Kane
--------------------
Greg has been a valuable player for Cambridge over many seasons will be looking for victory against the Roosters
This is a big, big game for both clubs, particuarlaly Cockburn who would not be happy with last week's loss to Kalamunda.
The Mean Machine are back to full strength With skippers Lance Strahan and Matt Kurta back into the side and a return to a full playing list it gives the side the punch that was missing last week.
Cockburn remain undefeated at home so far this season but those games have been against the bottom sides with the exception of the Vic Park Reds.
5 of the next 8 games will be played at Cockburn. The other + is Cockburn have come the closest of the all Premier League clubs to beating the Knights at Cambridge losing by just the one shot.
Cambridge are the surprise packet so far this year position wise are about to find out where they really are in this competition, will be keen not to lose the valuable ground they have built up. Some great tussles are bound to occur.
There are some great head to head clashes that will occur in this game
Can any rink from Cockburn stop the top rink in the league, that of Trystan Smallacombe who has lost only one game so far.
Lance Strahan provides the biggest challenge for the Knights to overcome, his rink have lost just one game and that was by one shot only.
Just about every other rink balances off with the exception of Brian Katunarich's rink, they are the most vunerable of the 8 rinks to lose, Cockburn has not been a happy hunting ground for any Brian Katunarich led rink over the years however his rink did win there last season. their stat sheet shows 3/6/1 - 15 shots this season and yet the Knights are in second position on the ladder.

---------------------Dave Scott
------------
Dave Scott will skipper for the first time ever in the Premeir League for Bedford this week against the Reds
Bedford have made more changes in an endeavour to become more competitive. Jim Gupanis is back playing two, Dave Scott plays his first game as a skipper in the Premier League, this is following from his good form as a skip in the One Blue side .
Bruce Fullagar also returns to the skippers position and he went ok earlier in the season even tho he was not getting bowls in the head
This Bedford line up is about as good as it can be with what players they have available to select from
Vic Park Reds are in very good form and will prove to be too strong for the Bedford Bulls. They have no changes and are a settled 16 at the moment. Last week they disposed of the Melville challenge courtesy of two rinks doing the damage. Rusell Hughes's rink had a rare loss last week and will be keen to atone this week
Form say it will be another loss for Bedford

WANNEROO EXPRESS v D/VIEW POWERHOUSE
C. Adams (sk) N.Stevens, G.Cox, P.Potts
G. Ellis (sk), R. Humphreyson, P. Knight,S.Wright
Ron Bates(sk), Russ Bates, S. Alden, S. Donohue.
S.Davies(sk), T.Alden,M.Hulbert,D Griffin

J.Slavich(sk)K.McIroy,D. Slavich,B.Gearing
D.Katunarich(sk),P. Buller,R. Dempsey, C.Tunstall
J. Sharp (sk),L. Thorn, R. Barns, M. Mitchell
R. Ball(sk), B. Urquhart, J. Bausor, C. Slavich
This match will be interesting because the PowerHouse don't appear to be all there at the moment. In the past two games they have had 4 drawn rinks which is unusual. Lack of depth by the two bottom clubs allowed the PowerHouse to cruise to victory with big wins on their other two rinks.
Wanneroo Express on the other hand can't get all rinks firing in the one game, there were good signs when the Express won on two rinks against Cambridge and just maybe they realise that games are slipping away and a win is a must for them.

---MELVILLE MAGIC v OSBORNE PARK SAINTS Sth PERTH MILLERS V KALAMUNDA
C. Girvan (sk),Cooper, R. Kennedy, J. Andrew
K. Cousins(sk), Keating, J. Birch, Whitewood
S. Hughes (sk), M. Randell, J. Spadaro. H. Mosford
N. Briely (sk), G.McCormack, R. Ireland, Murray.
----------------------versus
G. Caffell (sk), D. Rankin, G. Nicol,G. King .
J. Jaworski(sk) G. Evans, , F. DiGuiseppe, P. Ker
D. Trewhella (sk), P. Caffell, G. King, J. Coleman.
J. Goddard (sk) I., Payne, B. Galloway, D. Appleton
Melville at home are pretty good, however the club doesn't quite have the depth they would like to have. None the less the Magic are competitive and a win here would not surprise. Cameron Girvan's rink have shown they can go with any rink in the league and they can take on any Saint's rink and should be confident they can win.
Steve Hughes's rink have tailed of and by the look of things they just might have run out of petrol, they need to refuel and get moving again.
Neville Briely has just the 1 win so far in the 10 rounds played and the odds are the rink will lose again, but you never know what might happen on a nice sunny Saturday afternoon down at the home of the Magic
---------------------Roley Ireland
-----------------
Roley has been a very good player and club member for many seasons at Melville
Kieran Cousins won last week against one of the hardest rinks in the Premier League, that of Russell Hughes, that is a promising sign and with that sort of form the rink should be able to bother any of the Saints rinks.
The Saints have to keep the pressure on and again a win here is a must. There have been plenty of changes to the rinks over the season, have there been to many changes ?
The 16 didn't look quite the same with the name G. King missing from the lineup and he is back this week. Daniel Adam is back to One Blue
Problem is that the Saints have lost to bottom sides when least expected, this game against Melville is a danger game for the Saints.
John Goddard's rink has lost it's last two games, each time I have seen the rink play they have been very solid in each position will have to start to win games or the Saints won't be making the finals.
James Jaworski had his first win since taking over as skip, his rink has lost the close games but it is wins that count and the rink must win in this game.
Gary Caffell's rink are making up ground and appear to be back on track with 6/4/+ 32 while Daniel Trewhella's rink continue to shine and clearly are the mainstay for the Saints
6/2
K.Pride (sk), Antonio, F. Carbone, D. Stewart
S Walker,(sk) R Bandy, S Kelly, J Cunningham
Nic Reagan (sk) S. Lunn, T. Percival M.Hughes
G White (sk),R Bresland, N Rees, D Lyons
------------------------versus
N. Payne (sk) S. O`Neil, R. Hutchison, R Pringle
B.Brandsma(sk)J. Rollnik, P.Natalotto T.Natalotto
N. Griffin (sk)J. Wardrop , R. Payne , J. Morss
M. Biglin (sk) F. Anderson, M. Clancy, M. Douthie
Sth Perth would be favourites to win this game because of their home ground advantage. The Millers are alway competitve at home and last week they showed that some of their rinks can be competitive on grass so this game at home should be right up their alley and see them at the peak of their game.
Nick Reagan's rink are fourth best performed rink in the Premier League will lead the way for the Millers
Kalamunda done well to win last week against a weakened Cockburn Roosters 16. Can they do the same thing here and win this game? for now they appear to be safe from demotion and it seems that Neale Griffin's rink have lifted ther intensity in their last two performances, last week they dropped a five on the last end to narrowly lose the game against Steve Srhoy.
Neil Payne's rink bounced back into the winners circle while Mitch Biglin's rink have continued on their merry way.
