The last game of the final round and the pressure remains for several clubs.
Osborne Park Saints take on the Cockburn Roosters in a MUST win game. While The Saints are there about's on the ladder, a team with so many star players should be higher on the list. Cockburn look like they mean business with a string of victories.
Vic Park Reds are doing a great job so far with the list they have and this is a game they must win. Sth Perth Millers also have been very good for the competition will want to win this away game. Away game games have seen them register one win only this season.
Wanneroo is the side that has the capability but doesn't display it often enough would be eyeing another 8 pointer for this game. The Bulls have picked up just one point from their last 4 games which is lamentable to say the least.
Doubleview PowerHouse should be too strong for the Melville Magic who have been up and about over their last 4 games
Cambridge are on a roll and only need to produce their recent form to get over the team from the hills. Kalamunda are now locked in a three way dogfight to avoid relegation must snare some points out of this game
Jim Gupanis Keeps a tidy scorecard playing two

Jim Gupanis has slotted in nicely at Bedford started as a second and now playing three
-----------ROUND NINE 12th JANUARY 2008
----------------GAME OF THE ROUND
OSBORNE Pk SAINTS v COCKBURN ROOSTERS
G. Caffell (sk), D. Rankin, G. Nicol, J. Coleman.
J. Jaworski(sk) G. Evans, , F. DiGuiseppe, P. Ker
D. Trewhella (sk), P. Caffell, G. King, D. Adams.
J. Goddard (sk) I., Payne, B. Galloway, D. Appleton

S. Srhoy(sk),D. Penman, I. Jakovich,S. Vassallo
D. Brown(sk) L. Richardson,M. Zusman, P. Novak
J. Galipo(sk) S.Cerff, M. Illich, .G. Carpenter
M. Kurta(sk), G. Carberry, N.Fitzgerald, S.West
Osborne Park Saints will have to take stock shortly. They are losing the close games and that might be enough to keep them out of the four. They have lost 4 games by a total losing margin of 18 shots.
Gary Caffell was the leading rink in the Premier league last year has managed a 4/4 - 6 aggregate till the end of round 8.
The Saints have been depending on Daniel Trewhella and John Goddard rinks to get them the major end of the points. So it probably means stop these two rinks and you will almost certainly beat the Saints.
Cockburn Roosters have now won their last 5 games straight with three rinks doing the job for them and at last we see Daniel Brown's rink starting to find form. All this spells danger for the Saints. The grass at Osborne Pk is about as good as it gets and we notice that their team of Matt Kurta, Gary Carberry, Steve Srhoy and Mike Zusman playing in the AHG fours were r/u last monday.
One of traits of Cockburn over the years has been their ability to play on any surface and win. There is not much between the sides in ability and we can look forward to a high standard and exciting Premier League game
Sherro has since been informed that Lance Strahan is not available, Marion Sokol has been dropped and Steve West has retuned to the team.
On that basis I am reversing my selection

VIC PARK REDS v Sth PERTH MILLERS

Nic Reagan (sk) S. Lunn, T. Percival M.Hughes
Scott Walker(sk) B. Bandy,Reg Neindorf, D. Stewart
---------------------Daniel Patterson
-----------------
Daniel has enjoyed playing for the Reds this season as a leader and he has a big future in front of him
Vic Park Reds have won 5 of their 8 games played so far this season would be favourites for this game. Last week's loss to Cockburn was no surprise but a loss here would be.
The Reds rinks have not been finalized just yet with Jeff Mitchell's rink on a 4 game losing streak with a minus 36 shots aggregate are the weak link in this 16 and one would think if the rink doesn't get a move on there will be changes..There is plenty of scope for this to happen
The Sth Perth Millers face another away game and will be put to the test once again to see if they can come up trumps on grass.
Ken Pride got well and truly done over last week showed he likes playing on grass when he was in great touch on the Bedford grass.
I think the Millers can be competitive with the other rinks going pretty well. Ross Bresland is another who can play a major role in trying to knock over the Reds.
Nick Reagan's rink continues to impress with a very healthy stat sheet and who ever the rink plays they should be able to give as good as they get.
6/2
----BEDFORD BULLS v WANNEROO EXPRESS
C. Graybrook(sk) A. Mayer, P. Healy, N. Watson
S. Bainbridge(sk)J. Gupanis, B. Fullagar, K. Burke Paul. Hunter (sk),N. Minchin , M. Lemos, P. Hunter.
B. Gartrell (sk) K. Thomas,B. Donovan, J. Winship
----------------------Versus
C. Adams (sk) N.Stevens, G.Cox, P.Potts
G. Ellis (sk), R. Humphreyson, P. Knight,S.Wright
Ron Bates(sk), J.Carter, S. Alden, Russ Bates.
S.Davies(sk), T.Alden,M.Hulbert,D Griffin
This is a great oportunity for the Wanneroo Express to pick up another 8 pointer. Bedford Bulls have won on just one rink in their last 4 games
This game will complete the round and a win for the Express will put them back on track for a spot in the four. Wanneroo have been most unimpressive so far this season have finally had all rinks win their point in any game this season.
The rink of Clive Adams has been the catalyst over the past two games to bring the bacon home for Wanneroo. The rink has struggled earlier in the season but since a positional change they have become a force and are starting to live up to the promise of big things earlier in the year
The Bulls are more than aware that they can still avoid demotion and the best way for that to occur is winning. Bedford are on struggle street but an improved performance is on the cards especially playing at home but unfortunately they don't have enough petrol in the tank to win this important game for them.
6/2
--- D/VIEW POWERHOUSE v MELVILLE MAGIC
J.Slavich(sk)K.McIroy,D. Slavich,B.Gearing
D.Katunarich(sk),P. Buller,R. Dempsey, C.Tunstall
J. Sharp (sk),L. Thorn, R. Barns, M. Mitchell
R. Ball(sk), B. Urquhart, J. Bausor, C. Slavich
----------------------versus
C. Girvan (sk), K.Cousens, T. O`Meehan, J. Andrew
C. Fleay (sk), Keating, G. McCormack, J. Birch.
S. Hughes (sk), M. Randell, J. Spadaro. H. Mosford
N. Briely (sk), Kennedy, R. Ireland, Murray.
Doubleview PowerHouse are still the side to beat and playing Melville will show why they are in top position on the ladder.
John Slavich continues on with his stat sheet looking pretty good at 6/2 + 26 will again be the rink to show the way.
Dennis Katunarich led rinks have lost their past three game which is a little surprising considering the players who play in his rink.
----------------------Steve Hughes
----------------
Since being elevated to the skippers role the Steve Hughes led rink has given Meville some bite with improved performances over the past month or so
Melville have shown some great form over their past few games with Cameron Girvan and Steve Hughes rinks being the main reason for their good showing will find the PowerHouse a lot more difficult to knock over The tipsters would not be tipping them to win and neither is Sherro but we can expect them to be competitive in this contest.

------KALAMUNDA V CAMBRIDGE KNIGHTS
N. Payne (sk) S. O`Neil, R. Hutchison, R Pringle
B.Brandsma(sk)J. Rollnik, P.Natalotto T.Natalotto
N. Griffin (sk)J. Wardrop , R. Payne , J. Morss
M. Biglin (sk) F. Anderson, M. Clancy, M. Douthie
------------------------versus
T.Smallacombe (sk) N. Lewis,W. Maher, B. Kiely The Jones Boy (sk) T. Walsh, G. Leeks, R. Bolton.
R. Stockton (sk) A. Heal, G. Kane, H. Christensen
B. Katunarich (sk) M. McGann,C. McKenna,D.Irvin
The Knight are riding high after a great first round of Pennants so far with all rinks on board after a poor start for two of them. Last weeks win emphasized how good they are on their home carpet to beat the strong Osborne Park Saints on three rinks.
Once again they can't be complacent because if the best Kalamunda team shows upon Saturday they will get a contest.
Trystan Smallacomb'e rink have a great stat sheet as does the Jones Boy.
---------------------John Morss
--------------
John Morss has been selected to play his first game of Premier League against the Knights.
For Kalamunda their rinks have an even spread wins except for Neale Griffin's rink and they seemed destined to be the easy beats for Kalamunda for the rest of the season
Neil Payne and Mitch Biglin will be the best chance to snare a point in this game. It is Vital they do so with a capitol V as they are in a three way fight to avoid demotion and every point will count
