Some interesting games this week with Wanneroo and Cockburn heading the 3rd round as game of the day.
South Perth playing The Cambridge Knights is another game of interest, both clubs have good carpets
Doubleview play Victoria Park and at last it will give the bowling world an indication of where Vic Park are in the mix.
Melville play Kalamunda which just might be a better contest than it might appear to be.
Osborne Park have another easy game, this time against a depleted Bedford team and it looks like a 7/8 pointer to Osborne Park
Cockburn lead, Steve West delivers another bomb
--
Steve West played a brilliant leaders game against Cambridge to help his rink get over the line

M. Kurta(sk), M. Zusman, L. Richardson, S. West.
Well its on again, these two sides are looking for a place in the four. Both side have their best line ups available for the game.
Wanneroo were very competitive on three rinks against the PowerHouse and they will need to bring that same competiveness to this game. Clive Adams's rink on paper looks very strong, they broke thru for their first win of the season, and appears to have settled down and we can expect another good game from the rink
Geoff Ellis has his side going beatifully, they are hard to beat at home, or anywhere for that matter.
Stein Davies led rinks are generally very competitive and their two losses this season have been small will look to break thru for their first win of the season .
Neville Stevens rink were heavy losers last week against the PowerHouse 11/23 will have to lift if Wanneroo are to have a chance to win this very important game.
The Cockburn MeanMachine were impressive losers to Cambridge last week and once again have displayed that famous fighting spirit they are renowned for.
They have four top flight skippers, three are under the age of 27 which augers well for their immediate future. Lance Strahan got great service from Steve Cerff who played second and had a gigantic game in their great tussle with Brian Katunarich's rink.

R. Hughes (sk), T. Mitchell, J. Finlay, G. Quann.
R. Butler (sk, D. Florence, K. Beaglehole, G. Hiskens
J. Mitchell (sk), C. McNeil, S. Holt, D. Patterson
Three PowerHouse rinks remain undefeated after the first two rounds. They held off a strong challenge from the Wanneroo Express last Saturday. A couple of very close games saw the Kat get home by 4 shots and the two State Selctors Prickles Thorn and Geoff Ellis going head to head, the result was a 2 shot difference in favour of Prickles. John Slavich has continued on his merry way and leads the PowerHouse with the best stat sheet.
Doubleview will face a challenge from Russell Hughes's rink which appears to be the only rink from the Reds that has the ability to topple any PowerHouse rink in this game.
The other Reds rinks of Jeff Mitchell and Rhett Butler have done all that could be asked of them so far will be tested for the first time this season. Rooster Wishart has lost both games by narrow margins.
This game will tell much about where the Vic Park Reds are at

---Sth PERTH MILLERS v CAMBRIDGE KNIGHTS
----------------------versus
K. Pride (sk)K. Howieson G. Wooldridge,T. Antonio
R. Bresland.(sk)G. White,F. Carbone J Cunningham
Nic Reagan (sk) S. Lunn, T. Percival M.Hughes
Scott Walker(sk) B. Bandy,Reg Neindorf, D. Stewart
The Jones Boy (sk) T. Walsh, A. Heal, R. Bolton.
B. Katunarich (sk) M. McGann,C. McKenna,D.Irvin
T.Smallacombe (sk) N. Lewis,W. Maher, B. Kiely
R.Stockton(sk) C. Lander, G. Kane,H. Christensen
Sth Perth Millers were a tad disappointing losing to Kalamunda after three rinks were in with a chance to grab the points. There have been a couple of changes with Ross Bresland taking over the skippers job from Kevin Howieson who will play three for Ken Pride who also has a new leader, Tom Antonio.
Scotty Walker's rink has one change, Reg Neindorf replaces D. Bandy as the second
The Millers have more good players in their second side who can also be promoted if the need arises.
It is a case of experimenting with the side to try to get the combinations right for Sth Perth and there are bound to be more changes as the season progresses
The most important thing for the Millers is they have been very competitive so far and their first win is not that far away. What effect the changes will
bring for the Millers will be known Saturday night
Nick Reagan rink remains unchanged after their impressive win against Kalamunda
Steve Lunn, Sth Perth(pictured) enjoying last week rink win against Kalamunda
Ron Stockton's rink were beaten by a side that was red hot last Saturday. The rink has to improve a little but would be dead unlucky to run into another side that could produce the Cockburn effort that confronted them last Saturday. Ron Stockton was nearly always under the pump being in the down situation on the crossover on many occasions.
There has been a change in the rink with Harold Christensen going back to leader and Greg Kane playing two.
The Jones Boy and Tyrstan Smallacombe rinks continue on with their good form and will be the rinks expected to get the job done for the knights
Brian Katunarich so far has not had a win but going on last Saturday's perfomance their loss in a high standard game suggests they will soon have a win to their credit
There is certainly danger in this game for the Knights if we take into account The Millers great performance in the opening game against the Saints

D. Trewhella, P. Caffell, D. Rankin, P. Fair.
J. Goddard, I, Payne, G. King, D. Appleton.
Bedford
The Saints, last years runner up will win this game, they have lost on only one rink only so far this season
Daniel Trewhella and his rink have done all that is required so far, just depends on who they draw
John Goddard's rink are ticking over nicely
Gentleman Bill Galloway and his rink were surprising losers in a very tight game. As always Bill and his team gave full credit to the great game that Cameron Girvan played.
Gary Caffell's new look rink had a nice win against Melville, will soon face stronger competition in the coming games.
Cliff Graybrook's rink broke thru for their first win of the season and Stu Bainbridge returns to the side after missing last week because of sickness.
The Saints have to much depth in comparison to the Bulls

-------MELVILLE MAGIC v KALAMUNDA
C. Girven (sk)K. Cousins GMcCormack, P. Simonetti
C. Fleay (sk),R. Kennedy, A. Keating, J. Birch
B. Alexander(sk), S. Hughes, J. Spadaro, H. Mosford
N. Brieley (sk) A. Tough, R. Ireland J.Andrews
------------------------versus
N. Payne (sk) S. O`Neil, R. Hutchison, R Pringle
B. Brandsma (sk), J. Rollnik, T. Nattalotto R.Payne
N. Griffin (sk)B. Tie, M. Clancy, P. Nattalotto
M. Biglin (sk) F. Anderson, J. Wardrop, M. Douthie
Kalamunda, after a good result against Cockburn snaring two very good points from that game and followed up with a great 10 shot victory against the newly promoted South Perth Millers, will have to make hay while the sun is shining for them, they have harder battles ahead of them and can't let this game slip against an under performing Melville Magic. Every point counts and a win here will put some distance between them from the bottom sides.
Neil Payne's rink remains unbeaten, they should have enough aces in the pack to account for any Melville rink they might play
Melville don't have anywhere to go from here other
than an improved performance.
Cameron Girvan (pictured) represents Melville's best chance of picking up a point in this game. From all accounts he played a brilliant skippers game against the Osborne Park Saints last week in round two.
Will Cameron Girvan continue on with the sparkling form he displayed last week?? Cameron has played many fine games for Melville in the past and a repeat of that form could get his rink across the line
Colin Fleay is Melville's only other winner this season and is capable of victory in this game..
It is a hard job for Melville but...you never know
Kalamunda 7/1
