FINALS
Osborne Park Saints carry on with their form to say goodbye to the Victoria Park Reds in the preliminary final at Doubleview this afternoon.
The First semi- final was a great win to the Victoria Park Reds who continued their dominance over the Cambridge Knights.
The second semi-final was a brilliant spectacle with two great sides locked in a struggle for supremacy that saw the PowerHouse emerge as winners
-----------------------------------JAMES JAWORSKI
--------------
James Jaworski in action at Doubleview redeemed himself in the preliminary final with a great game against Rooster Wishart.
On the last end of the game against Dennis Katunarich James dropped a six after being just one down on the crossover with a drive that went wrong for him
PRELIMINARY FINAL
Victory for the Osborne Park Saints to set up another showdown with the Doubleview PowerHouse. The Saints have been very solid and it was the Daniel Trewhella led rink (they won both games) that paved the way to victory over Jeff Mitchell's rink with a handy 21/9 win.
James Jaworski redeemed himself with a great game to roll the very steady rink of Rooster Wishart with a score of 29/17.
It was mixed bag for the Saints with two rinks winning one game and losing one game in both fixtures.
For Victoria Park Russell Hughes showed his class with another fine display and once again when he is most needed he is there. He will certainly leave behind some great memories as it was his last game in W.A
The King of swing got swinging in this game against John Goddard to win 21/15.
The John Goddard led rink lost both games today and will have to get right into gear for tomorrow's Grand Final. The team has the talent to do so

SECOND SEMI-FINAL
What a brilliant game of bowls we witnessed today, it is games like this that make it such a fascinating spectacle.
I was not able to see a lot of the game due to the other semi-final taking place.
Perhaps a defining moment that changed the course of victory was the James Jaworski V Dennis Katunarich game. The score was locked at 16/16 all going into the last end. By anyone's judgment that is a great effort for any rink to be level with the best performed rink this season at the PowerHouse. Well what we saw was James Jaworski on the crossover down 1 but holding 2 and 3rd shot. Dennis Katunarich had 5 counters in waiting if he could trail the jack to them.
James wound the arm up and went bang, THE EXPLOSION WAS SO LOUD WE HEARD IT ON A green because when the dust settled he found himself 5 down, Kat drew for 6 leaving James to clean up the mess he created, James was not able to do so and went 6 down to lose 16/22. The loss of so many shots clearly cost the Osborne Park Saints the aggregate
Was it the right decision to drive with the game so delicately poised. While there might be an argument for James Decision Most would say a poor decision

FIRST SEMI-FINAL
VICTORIA PARK REDS 72 (2) def CAMBRIDGE KNIGHTS 64 (2)
Victoria Park Reds again showed the way home in this game against The Cambridge Knights. Three times they have met this season and Cambridge have no answer to the Victoria Park game plan losing each game.
The big winner and the rink that led the charge for the Reds was the Rooster Wishart led rink who demolished Ron Stockton's boys. After the game I spoke with Chris Lander who said " Sherro we have no excuse at all they played so well and deserve their win" Then Harold Christensen went on to add that the best player in this match was Thomas Mitchell who was in brilliant touch for the Reds.
-------------------------------------THOMAS MITCHELL
-------------
Thomas Mitchell played a huge game against Ron Stockton's rink to help bring home the aggregate for the Reds
Russell Hughes and his rink had a dour struggle with Trystan Smallacombe's rink who would be devastated with this rink loss after playing so well thru the season to be the second best performed rink in the Premier League only to fall in this do or die game.
Russell was extremely good playing his high quality game, while Trystan Smallacombe was under the pump more often than not and he certainly played a fine skippers game.
I thought the Cambridge front players played below their capabilities in the last few ends and were often too far away from the jack.
On the other side of the coin I watched a fair bit of the Brian Katunarich V Jeff Mitchell game and just looking at Brian and the way he was playing swung my mind back 14 years ago, he was a State skipper then. Brian was drawing them on a threepenny bit today and helped his rink out time and again.
The Jones Boy had his rink playing a good tune today where they gave their all and he himself was brilliant yet again. Tony Walsh played some bombs while the two Bolton's Ross and Neil had many fine bowls throughout the game. They had the whip hand over the King of Swing Rhett Butler to win with a handy 23/13 win.
