The true Cockburn team show up for the preliminary final and really got hold of those Doggies. The Doggies can be proud of their achievement this season. They have been a terrific side, well led, and to fail right at the almost last hurdle will hurt them some I would think, so close and yet so far for them.
Cockburn have redeemed themselves and to win by such a margin would be just the tonic they need. The afternoon side was changed due to Peter Sardelic being unable to play, not sure if Pete is playing in the grand final tomorrow.

I am surprised that OP lost by such a margin, but history this season has shown that the Doggies were the masters of OP. Winning all three games, and it will be back to the drawing board for OP.
Osborne Park would have to be happy with their performance in the second round to make it to the finals, making it with the help of Safety Bay. Still it was a long way to travel to Cockburn and then to cop a loss like that.

What Happened!!! what a hiding for Cockburn, Hard to believe that Cockburn could lose by such a margin on their home ground. Looking at the scoreboard they only got 53 shots for the game
The Doubleview power house was switched on and have confirmed their favoritism for the flag, with a huge win, no one would have thought they would win by such a margin. Can they reproduce this form in tomorrows Grand Final?

Leeming (6) Kalamunda (2).....................72/71
Dreams come true at Wanneroo for Leeming, as they win their promotion to One Red. With four regular players missing from the line up and down on form they have snatched a last gasp victory courtesy of Wayne Heldt with his and the last bowl of the game.
The game ending in pitch blackness, the score Leeming 70/71 down and 2 down at the head with only one bowl to be played, Wayne Heldt played the most pressurized bowl he has ever had to play removed both Kalamunda bowls with a running shot to get two shots and victory for Leeming making it 72/71.
No doubt that Wayne will remember that shot for the rest of his playing days.

Kalamunda (6) beat Nth Beach (2)...........77/ 68.....

North Beach weren't expected to win the game but one of the hilights would have been the game between the top One White rink, that of Ted Potter up against The rink of Billy Brandsma, Billy's rink were so hard to beat earlier in the season and had gone off the boil of late and to draw is a great result. 22/22

As we thought all other Kalamunda rinks went well.

Wanneroo (6.5) beat Leeming (1.5 )...............85/65.....
Wanneroo just too good for a depleted Leeming side and too good for them even when they are at full strength.

This game went as expected and the scoreline shows that Wanneroo are too strong for Leeming. The rink of Clive Adams set up the victory with a crushing win over Geoff Gould 30/8.
Geoff Ellis came to the party also with a handy 4 shot win against Colin Moore 22/18.

ONE BLUE

Bassendean(6) Warwick (2).....................74/72
Well I am surprised to see Warwick out of the finals and it just shows the unexpected can happen.
The powerful, and best performed rink of Warwick, Brian Freind failed in both games, and this is the major reason why Warwick are out of the finals. Not fair to point the finger at Brian's rink but going on performances this season they would be favoured to win their rink in normal circumstances and especially at home. Tom Gates made a return to the greens and has done very well on his return won both games in the finals,beating the best rink in the comp, Len Carruthers.
John Mather who has missed the last two games also won both finals games. Warwick have won the promotion and that is what matters most.
Bassendean have it all in front of themselves and will give a good account of themselves when they play Thornlie, winner gets the promotion to One White

I had the wrong team down to play {Doubleveiw} But it makes no difference as Bassendean would have still won the game I would think.

Thornlie (6) Warwick(2 ).....................72/ 70...

This is a surprise result, just couldn't see how Thornlie could win but obviously I have under estimated them. Should be a cracker of a game against Bassendean
