PREVIEW - FINALS
MORLEY 93 (7) eliminated OSBORNE PARK 67 (1)
It’s goodbye to Ossie Park who went down to Morley on one of the states most picturesque greens.
By the time I arrived Cliff G was into his lunch – a couple of others were enjoying a beer and Rance was out there doing battle with Wayne Neilson as too young Duggie E was battling with the Big Pom.
The Saints are to be congratulated on a good years work – first year up and in the finals – not a mean feat in anybodies language – well done Ossie Park. However it’s mothball for the Saints till next season.
Morley led very capably by John Armstrong and his charges set a strong tone for The Mavericks breaking out to a 15 shot lead after 5 or 6 ends. They finished the day strongly with a 27/11 win over Mr. Edwards and his rink.
Pete Aungier completed a good morning’s work running out a comfortable 11 shots the better over Doug Eaton. Wayne Neilson was 6 shots up on Rance Dewson and his charges – Keith Guelfi produced the only highlight for The Saints as 7 shot victors over Murray Robinson.
The likeable BIG POM
Peter Aungier has been a top skip for Morley this season and played a major part in their return to the Premier League

MOSMAN PARK 89 (7) defeated STIRLING 67 (1)
They finished on top and stayed on top of this match all morning – reversing Stirling’s fortunes of a week ago.
Tony Krajancic produced the morning highlight for Stirling with a solid 13 shot victory over the ever reliable Lester Mortimer.
Everything else went the way of Mossies – The Milbourne and Ball show shut down Tommie Norac’s rink with a resounding 24 shot victory. Rainoldi and Withers completed workmanlike results over Nifty Stevens by 5 shots and Dinko Golem by 6 shots respectively.
There was a bit of excitement on The “Rink of Withers” apparently over a toucher. Following the usual trading of some good ol’ Ossie expletives good sense prevailed and the game went on almost incident free.
The wash up of this match set up what was to be an enthralling encounter between Stirling and Morley in the afternoon.
Well done Mossies – Red next year – don’t be surprised if the Mossie Blokes do OK in their first year in Red.
As a man the Mosman Park lads retired to the bar and enjoyed a few well earnt lagers throughout the afternoon and no doubt early into the evening as well.
MORLEY 84 (6) defeated STIRLING 75 (2)
What a great battle this match was to be – up until the 70th end there had been little more than two or three shots either way all afternoon.
Tommie Norac had jumped the big Pom and at one stage held a 15 shot lead.
John Armstrong seemed to have the measure of Dinko Golem – Nifty Stevens was on top of Murray Robinson and the other two Tony Krajancic and Wayne Neilson were having a right royal battle.
Then the s*@t hit the fan – with Stirling holding a 6 or 7 shot aggregate lead – the largest of the day and only some 10 ends left to play – the unthinkable happened.
Tony K played his last bowl to disturb the head being down 3 (I think) and in doing so slid off their closest bowl pushing it out of the head and leaving the next 6 shots for Morley.
Morley picked up 4 more shots across two other rinks and BINGO Morley hit the front and was never troubled again.
The Big Pom played a huge part in this result coming back from 15 or 16 deficit to get to within a single shot of the Tom Norac.
JA and his rink just kept doing what they do best – going on to record another solid 14 shot win over Dinko Golem.
Neville Stevens played out a solid match getting the better of Robinson’s rink by a margin of 9. That left the “out of luck” Tony Krajancic who in the end surrendered to Wayne N and his charges.
The result tells us Morley is back in Red and Stirling is back to the drawing board.
Stirling are to be congratulated as their fist year in White produced appearances in two out of three of the final matches – well done Stirling – we will watch your progress next year with interest.

MOSMAN PARK V MORLEY
This should be a belter of a final – my concern is which club will try the hardest as both have already achieved promotion.
Having been close to the worst tipster on this web site all year and for what it’s worth Andy tips a win by Morley in a close one.
Get your bums down to Carlisle today and see the best in the business on display.
SUMMARY
We talk about location and Mossies has it all – the day finished for me as the sun sank slowly in the west on a balmy day at Mosman Park (little or no breeze) and a can of Jimmie Beam in my hand talking to two of natures gentleman Rags Rainoldi and Lindsay Hicks –
those who went to the trouble of going to watch bowls today were treated to some great entertainment and brilliant encounters – be at Carlisle today.
Tarah and good luck to both Mossies and Morley
