From the pen of Andy
Dalkeith-Nedlands known as the “Silvertails”
What a season this club had in White last year – 16 wins from 17 outings – that is brilliant in any mans language.
You might have been excused for thinking they may have been playing out of their league. When you look around at their playing list and some of their club mentors, you begin to understand that there is feeling, ownership, a desire to win, almost a “win at all cost” attitude on some of their rinks.
That is the stuff that makes for competitive outcomes falling your way and providing they retain their playing list, the Silvertails will be competitive in RED.
The only failing produced by this club last season was a competitive but lackluster finish in the playoffs. The Doggies got them by a couple of shots in the second semi final and The Ravens by about 10 shots in the final, so there is still some work to do here. Perhaps the fact that promotion was already in the bag may have removed the edge a little from this club.

The Gipsy was marked absent from the closing part of the season and finals, apparently on an overseas sabbatical (seeking divine guidance from the Pope or something) – perhaps he was returning that famous library book on Croatian Bowls etiquette.
We all know that Skoro’s “bowls” and “on green chatter” form a significant part of most of the Silvertails outcomes.

Peter “The Duke” Bacich was the strong performer over the season recording 13 wins from 16 outings and a plus of 40.
Always the gentleman is The Duke, so much so that he often offers to play left handed just to make life a little easier for the opposition.

Marko K who did miss a couple of games during the year, produced 12 wins from 15 games with a plus of 132 – I hate to admit it, but that was a huge result for this club. Marko is still a very skillful bowler and his vast
years of experience as a state player and one of the members of the once very powerful “Cockburn Clan”, provides serious depth to this club in their Red endeavors.
These two were ably assisted by Tom Williams 12 from 17 with a plus of 68 and of course the Gipsy 7 wins 3 draws and 6 losses and plus 15.
There are many other fine club bowlers down on Silvertail Hill, none better than John MacIntosh, Ross MacKenzie, Ross Donald, Mad Dog Morgan, Vinnie Santo and the dynamic duo of Colley and Back, just to mention a few.
They certainly knew how to win last season and their progress in Red will be followed closely by many.
Good luck “Silvertails” in your new colour, we all know how much the club wanted promotion.
