ONE BLUE NORTH REVIEW
November 28, 2007 ROUND FOUR
Firstly, I apologise for the delay in this weeks report but I have just been transferred in work to a new position and have been away until today.
Now let’s get on with what occurred last Saturday.
Firstly, let get over the painful stuff.
Wanneroo 6.5 def Scarborough 1.5
The difference between the two sides was the crushing 32-14 hiding handed out by the Derek Bowen led rink against Michael Murray. I know I will not be in trouble with my Wanneroo opponents by suggesting that they had the “rub of the green” all day but I think they still would have beaten us regardless, but not by that score line.

Derek Bowen and Garry Cox were outstanding for the visitors and ably supported by Geoff Gunning and Ken Boswell. All other rinks were close.
Gary Cox Wanneroo (pictured) played a brilliant game for his club against Scarborough
Scarborough has made wholesale changes this week because we are now in a position that if we do not start winning we are also headed for second division. Michael Murray who has been playing pretty well but without an ounce of luck will be missing for the next two matches due to work commitments.
North Beach 7 def Bedford 1 (1)
The “Blues” get a much needed win over a gallant Bedford “Bulls” side with the difference being in the in-form Mike Vitale rink recording a match winning 25/12 of the Hofgesang led rink.
Doubleview 6.5 def Morley 1.5
Doubleview won as expected but did not have it all their own way. In fact if it had not been for the Wholohan win of 22-15 over Morley skipper Hayley, an upset was very likely.
Osborne Park 6.5 def Warwick 1.5
Osborne Park continues to confound this observer with a win over the highly fancied Warwick. I am re-thinking my position about this “Saints” team. Osborne Park’s skipper McFarlane recorded a 22-18 win over John Mather which proved enough when only 3 shots separated them in aggregate.
Sorrento 7 def Stirling 1
Sorrento continue to impress whilst Stirling have been slightly disappointing. There were many judges who thought Stirling would “stroll” through this division. I was not one of them. I have played in this division for a couple of years now and came to realise that just because you are not playing Premier league you still have to play consistently to be competitive.
It just doesn’t happen by walking out there. Alan Anderson with a 23- 8 win over Mark Pasalich proved the difference.
My selections for this week
Morley vs Scarborough (Scarborough in a must win)
North Beach vs Doubleview (Doubleview will be too even)
Stirling vs Bedford (Stirling are the “good things” for the day)
Wanneroo vs Osborne Park) (Wanneroo are the best side we have played
Warwick vs Sorrento (Sorrento for me)
