Thanks to John Payne and Jill Revell of the Morley Bowling Club for their assistance
in compling these results.
The
Best in the West Singles were held at the Morley Bowling Club Friday 11/2/05.
The tournament was played in a sets play format { best of three sets} and was
won by Jon Sharp from the Merridan Bowling club who won
the final beating Trystan Smallacombe {Cambridge} 9/5---9/6 in a very good
game on an excellent green under lights.

There wasn't much in this game with both players making a very good game of
it with some oustanding ends, no one had the shot till the last bowl was played
on several occasions, however it was Jon Sharp who had a small edge and went
on to win the game and the $1500.00 first prize.
The Morley Bowling club are to be congratulated for putting on an event such
as this, and presenting first class greens, well done Morley.
The Ladies did a very good job, and had a couple of wins
with Therese Hastings knocking over Jeff Hall and Neil Payne who are very
accomplished bowlers and
just missed snaring Jon Sharp, losing the game on the tie break to him.
