Dear Sherro,

I have been watching with interest the reactions from many about this absurd idea of Bowls WA charging Corporate/Community Bowlers a fee.

I fully agree with Pat Bullers comments and would just like to point out a few things.

We at the Innaloo Sportsmens Club Inc have been running our Community Bowls programmes now for some years and have worked hard to get it to where it is today (with no assistance from Bowls WA).

We have had a few of these Community Bowlers go on to join up and play Pennants for our Satellite Bowling Clubs both Men\'s and Ladies, so we feel we are at present developing the game of Bowls ourselves

The situation at the Innaloo Sportsmens Club is that the ISC Management runs our Community Bowls and the Innaloo Bowling Club both Men's and Ladies give us their time to help support it. Therefore Bowls WA has no right to try and enforce this fee on to us and as such we will not be paying it.

We did endorse the "Get on the Green" programme in the start but had little or no support from Bowls WA so we stopped this support to run our own race.

If Bowls WA is so interested in the numbers of people playing social bowls then all they have to is ask the clubs to complete a form and send it back to them. There is absolutely no reason to have these players registered or pay a fee.

I have yet to see what the current Development Officer has done, will do or plan to do. So what reason does Bowls WA require another one, maybe they could let me know?.

I feel like many others that Bowls WA have a difficult job to do and on the whole do a very good one, but maybe they have lost their way a little and should get back to listening to their rank and file as to how to promote this great game of ours
