Sherro,

I too, although not a commitee member at Melville support Pat's thoughts.

Instead of Bowls WA trying to grab money off "fun loving barefoot or social " bowlers,or clubs that welcome them, they should be encouraging clubs to run events for them as many clubs do.

We all know how much it costs to prepare greens, pay bar staff & the efforts required to try to have volunteers stay at the club to help coach them in the basics of bowls.

Has the association ever considered thinking outside the box & paying clubs a nominal amount to run these events.

I.E. $2,000 per club would allow 40 clubs to conduct an event each - the equivilent of one development officer without any other outgoings.

Obviously there may not be 40 clubs that conduct such events in which case Bowls WA would be streets ahead.

As Pat states, it is about time we got something positive for our fees apart from unworkable new rules.
