G'day, Sherro.

My 2c worth on Facebook-gate. It doesn't matter whether the original article was meant to be public or private, the fact is it has now been made public. There should be no "sanctions" from BowlsWA for someone expressing an opinion, but maybe a quiet word is called for to clear the air over the player's problem with the selectors.

Either take his criticism on board, or tell him to pull his head in. It shouldn't need to go any further than that. But leaving a point of friction uncared for will not help anyone.

As for "being affected by alcohol" - I choose not to drink during a game (I make up for it plenty afterwards!), but I've got no problem with anyone who does, as long as it doesn't affect his bowls. If "being affected" means he was blotto, then it's up to his club to sort that out. It's got nothing to do with BowlsWA.

In the end, it's a minor matter that's been blown out of all proportion. A gentle tap on the shoulder and a friendly word over a quiet beer (preferably not on the green), and it will all be forgotten by this time next week.

Cheers,

Swifty
