Hi Sherro
I am writing you this letter on behalf of my father Bob Durrant who is the Vice-President of the Bunbury Bowling Club.
A Country Week Fours side was entered this year consisting of Mike Nagle, George Kerns, Greg Slavin (All members of the Bunbury Bowling Club) and a close friend (Who bowls for Mandurah Bowling Club).
Today they received a phone call from BowlsWA saying they were unable to enter the side because it was a composite side. One of there reasons why it wasn\'t accepted because Bunbury is considered a large club and they were told to find a player from within the club.
Things brings a few interesting thoughts to the table.
1. Why send a form to the Bunbury Bowling Club for the entry of composite sides if they are not able to field them?
2. These players play 2nd division pennants for Bunbury and this was told to BowlsWA by the captain of the Bunbury Bowling Club. \"Stacked\" side?
3. For anyone that has taken part in a Country Week would know that it is as much about playing with friends and catching up with old friends as it is playing bowls.
4. 22 of 44 sides entered in the State Fours are Composite, many of them \"Stacked\" sides. Alright for the city but not the country?
Cmon Bowlswa, please show some common sense in this matter and just let 4 blokes who love their bowls go to the city and how a fun and enjoyable week.
Thanks and good bowls
Bob Durrant
