Sherro,

Aaron makes two valid points in his letter about clashing events. Firstly the majority of other states run club championships simultaneously with great success. However in WA despite ongoing requests this is covered by excuse #101, \"we tried it once and it didn't work".

Secondly Bowls WA does collect $50 from clubs to classify events as prestigious events (attracting Rosenthall Medal points) and nothing should clash with these events. Clubs can also list their carnivals with Bowls WA, at no cost, again to ensure there are no clashes, of a significant nature in this case.

However when the Vice President of Men's Bowls allows his own club to run a non listed event against a listed prestigious event, well, I am afraid there is no hope and the chaos will continue.

It is very disappointing scenario, one that clubs have complained about, but nothing has happened. It seems it was far more important to deal with bowlers sitting on the bank
