One White review round Six 11/12 /05
December 11, 2005
Gosnells made in 3 wins in a row with a narrow victory
away to Kalamunda on Saturday. After a poor start to the season Gosnells now
have their line
up in shape with Michael Yates leading the way. Kalamunda’s Billy
Brandsma recorded a narrow win over Rob Cruickshank however Brandsma did
mention that former state player Cruickshank was in superb touch. Kalamunda
appear to be on a downward slide at the moment losing their last two and
having a tough road trip to Kardinya next weekend.
After my rev up of Morley 3 weeks ago they have now regrouped and are
starting to show the form that they are capable of. John Armstrong and Peter
Aungier
had huge rink wins to set up the 54 shot victory over the hapless Thornlie
team. Morley travel to Safety Bay next Saturday in what is a must win match
for both teams as we head to the Christmas break. Thornlie have now strung
together 4 losses but they should be back in the winners circle when they host
Innaloo in round 7.

In the match of the day Scarborough and North Beach took
2 rinks each but Scarborough with slightly better margins ensured that the vital
4 aggregate
points went their way. I played against Scarborough skippers Jeff White, Hugh
McKay and Ron Kuziela at Yokine yesterday and all were in superb touch. I am
told this standard of bowls is being reflected when they hit the greens on
pennants day. Before the season commenced I didn’t pick Scarborough to
finish in my top 4 but they have proven me wrong and I now think that the once
powerful club could see themselves back in the top division next season.
Warwick
skippers Brian Friend, Alan Hogarth and Elliot Taylor recorded fine rink wins
to counteract the 16 shot defeat that Matt Massari inflicted on John
Mather. Warwick will have to be at their very best next Saturday when they
travel to North Beach. Safety Bay should do enough to take the points from
Morley.

The Kardinya ball kept rolling on Saturday with a complete white wash
of the depleted Innaloo 16. Tony Cocodis remains as the only undefeated skipper
in
the division. Kardinya could well see themselves on the top of the ladder next
weekend if they can topple Kalamunda.
With a third of the home and away games
now completed the table is jammed with at least 8 teams a realistic chance
to fill a top 4 spot.
Kempy picked 4 winners in round 6.
