ONE WHITE REVIEW ROUND TWELVE

February 14, 2006

Innaloo v Scarborough

The Seagulls did what they had to on Saturday. As expected they went to Innaloo and picked up 7 points. A high light for Innaloo was the Swarbrick rink’s win over Scarborough’s Geoff White. Besides that the game went as expected and the less said about Innaloo’s performances on and off the green this season the better.
Scarborough host ladder leaders Kalamunda next week in a game that could make or break their season. Innaloo travel to North Beach for the battle of the cellar dwellers.

Kalamunda v Warwick

It was all systems go in round 12 for the boys from the hills. Warwick was beaming with confidence after last week’s victory over Kardinya but they travelled to Kalamunda and were chewed up and spat out to the tune of 39 shots.
Rowdy Griffin over John Mather by 6 shots, Billy Brandsma over Alan Hogarth by 3 shots, Tricky Rick Eddy over Elliot Taylor by 18 shots and Payney over Brian Friend by 12 shots ensured maximum points and top spot.

Warwick are on the road again next weekend when they travel to Thornlie in a must win encounter. Kalamunda can strengthen their grip at the top of the table if they can get over Scarborough.

Morley v North Beach

It was no real surprise to see Morley pick up 7 points against North Beach. The only surprise is that it wasn’t 8 points.
North Beach must win against Innaloo next Saturday if they are to 1) try and avoid relegation and 2) give themselves a chance of making the top 4.

North Beach selector Greg Hill informs me that there will be cosmetic changes made for the blockbuster against Innaloo in a bid to end their 4 match losing streak. Morley faces a tough task when they travel to Gosnells for the match of the round.

Safety Bay v Gosnells

It probably should read Safety Bay versus the Cruickshanks. Robbie got hold of John Biglin by 18 shots and Big Bad Bert recorded a fine 11 shot win over the Scott rink.
This was enough to cover the losses on the other 2 rinks and see Gosnells travel home with a very handy 6 points.
Gosnells appear to have a well balanced side and should be commended for their efforts this season after losing many of their “stars” in the pre-season shake up.
Safety Bay is hanging in there and it will be no surprise to see them finish in the top 4. Gosnells should account for the inconsistent Morley in round 13 whereas Safety Bay faces a tough one when they travel to Kardinya.

Thornlie v Kardinya

The Tony Cocodis rink lost by 22 shots but Kardinya still picked up 7 points and won the aggregate by 15 shots. You blew a big chance Thornlie of being right in the mix of things by performing dismally on 3 rinks and not taking advantage of a home game.
In saying that praise must go to the 3 winning Kardinya rinks that covered the Cocodis loss. The Ravens must beat Warwick next Saturday to try and stave of possible relegation and Kardinya can leap frog Safety Bay if they are successful at home.

WRAP
12 rounds gone and 6 to go and it is still wide open. Kalamunda are back on top of the pile but for how long? Can Morley beat Gosnells and throw their hat in the ring? Is Warwick sliding back to One Blue? Can Innaloo record their first win of the season over the Beach Boys? I think there are still many twists to unfold in this intriguing competition and it will take right up to round 18 to untangle the mystery.

Kempy picked 3 winners in round 12 taking his tally to 40/60 for the season.
