Today we saw some great games of singles in the 1/4 finals, and semi finals of Country week.
Silky Wilkins from Cunderdin has made to play in the final while the other place has yet to be decided and will be played between Eaton's Gordon Jones and Geraldton's Colin Morgan to see who meets Silky Wilkins

L/R: Gordon Jones (Eaton) and Henry Slawinski (Wonthella) fought out a tough game where neither were prepared to call it a day
----------------Gordon Jones and Henry Slawinski
The game between Henry and Gordon was a high class affair, firstly Gordon who is as tough as teak got away to lead 9/0. It looked mission impossible for Henry form this position but sure enough Henry wasn't going away without a fight and fight he did.

Henry soon had the game squared up at 11 - 11 and from here it was anyone's game.

Gordon shot away to lead 19 - 15 and Henry really looked to be on the ropes but found another leg to come back to make it 19 - 19.

Gordon applied the pressure to Henry who was dreadfully unlucky finding the gap between Gordon's bowl and jack 3 times in the last two ends, any touch and Henry would have won but all credit to a very good bowler in Gordon Jones who went on to win his next game against S. Kahler from Comet Bay 21- 10

Henry last played in Country week in 2006 when he won the Country week Singles. Illness has stopped Henry in those 2 years but he has a heart as big as Phar Lap and to come back from those situations tells much about Henry Slawinski

Silky Wilkins showed how good he is when the pressure was on today. He Played Glen Dunn from Mandurah and was just too steady.
Glen Dunn had beaten Maurice Crameri 21 - 3 in a sensational display of lawn bowls. Maurice would never have won this game but he bowled far better than his score indicates. There was nothing that Glen Dunn could not do, any draw or shot play he was spot on.
Silky Wilkins had Played Neville Woods earlier had had his measure in a good game, it was Silky who had the magic working for him in this game which he won 21 -12
Its all over and the best of friends after the game As
--------------L/R: Silky Wilkins shakes hands with Neville Woods
-----------------Silky and Neville

In the game between Silky and Glen it promised to be a goodie but Glen left all his good bowls back in the game against Maurice Crameri.
Glen suffered the same fate as Maurice Crameri, Silky was on fire and answered all the challenges he faced and came out a comfortable winner and will play in the final tomorrow as well as play in the fours semi final

Mike Ford deliveres while Colin Morgan looks on

This was a very good contest between two Geraldton Bowlers, Mike Ford and Colin Morgan and both players were soooooooooooo good with several outstanding heads.
The score board showed there was never much in the game,

The score went 4/4, 6/6, 10/7, 10/9, 14/13, and from there is where colin Morgan got the vital break to get away and win 21 -16. This game was all class and a shame there had to be a loser.
