September 1, 2009Peter Sardelic
Peter "Mr Magic" Sardelic is another great Legend of the game, Peter has been involved in the sport for more than forty years playing for Cockburn Bowling Club and being a big part of the clubs many premiership wins. Who can ever forget his bowls with the horse shoes as the emblem on his bowls.

Peter was a great draw shot, particularly under pressure, he didn't have a big fast drive, more a swinging drive. He was the best reader of the head you would ever find.

Sometimes he was called lucky because of his incredibly accurate wick shots, what those bowlers didn't realize was these shots were calculated and always played with the right line and correct weight, that particular shot broke many a heart.

A huge feature of Peters game was his great sense of humour and the way he involved his players in the decision making process when deciding on an important shot.

There is not much that he has not accomplished which includes 29 games playing as skipper for Australia and 174 games for W.A, 173 of them as skip. Peter still plays the game and is playing as I type.

After such an outstanding bowling career I asked "Mr Magic" who he would choose as the best 16 bowlers to represent W.A.and the rink he would choose to play to save his life.
