For bowlers information Sherro had intended to provide scores each night after the completion of each days play at the recent Interstate Sides series

On Monday evening, day one of the event I put the rink scores for all states of the Men’s side up on the internet when I got home at 7.00 PM.

Had I had a laptop I would have put them up with scores being live and almost updated to the minute. Being a pensioner laptops are out of my financial range.

The second day I was approached by a woman called Penny who informed me that I had to remove the scores I had provided for the Monday games including W.A scores from my website. When asked why, she replied that they wanted bowlers to go to the Bowls Australia web site for that information, then insisted that I remove the scores immediately. I informed her that I would have to leave the venue where I was on the 107.9 FM broadcast team to do so, yet she still insisted that I go home and remove them

Of course I said no, but I would put a link from my site to her site when I arrived home that evening and bowlers could log in and get the updated scores from her site from that time on for the rest of the series.
Penny was still unhappy with this arrangement so I chose not to provide a link to her page when I got home.

I then informed her that there were no scores up on the Bowls Australia site for Mondays play anyway, she said they had some problem but they would be up on the site from today (Tues) onward.

Sherro was also informed there were no W.A scores available on the Bowls Australia website but scores for all other States were available, I went and had a look and sure enough, no W.A scores.

On one occasion I rang the Osborne Park Bowling club and they would not give me the final scores for the games of that day, Boy why were we running into brickwalls ? . Consequently I didnt put any further rink scores for the other States only W.A results .

If this was meant to punish or affect me, they have missed their target. What about not only West Aussies living here but West Australians living in other states wanting to know the rink scores, why punish them..What about other States wanting to know the W.A score They could be unaware of our site. We at no stage are in competition with any bowling website anywhere in the world

Even now on the 6/4/2008 there are incorrect scores for W.A
D Fitzpatrick------------- R Dempsey
T McInnes ----------------R Heaton
R Lindbeck----- 33/ 17--- R Butler
C O'Connor--------------- R Hughes

The above is one of a few W.A scores that are incorrect

There is no list of the skipper’s statistics on Bowls Australia website, we are none the wiser who was the best performed rink in this event. The list was on the site but have since been removed, WHY ? If Bowls Australia could provide me with the rink scores I would happily provide them to the bowling public for their perusal.

The bottom line here is that Penny wanted to make people go to Bowls Australia website only to get the results which would help her get hits to the site. It didn’t seem to matter that we broadcasting scores over the radio and other websites were publishing scores and results..

If Bowls Australia have a contract with a company and have granted them exclusive rights to be the only provider of information on the Internet then clearly they have failed to provide this information correctly and on time.

For Bowls Australia, Next time hire Sherro or Tweed Heads and we will guarantee that scores can be live on the Internet to the Bowling public of Australia.

Radio personnel were also denied entry to get scores on B green because the area was roped off with an official in attendance to make sure spectators were denied entry. We had to rely on officials to get them for us .

It makes one wonder why we try, Gee you know the pay is huge for what we did at Osborne Park, it came to $ 0. 00 per week, I forgot, we did get our meals provided and we are thankful for that.

Last but not least I apologize to officials for trying to help bring the game and results to the people of Australia, it seems there is no place for the Sherro's of the bowling world in the scheme of things.
