Congratulations to John Slavich winner of the Doubleview Mackie Medal best player award..
In what would be described as an ordinary year for the Doubleview PowerHouse after a poor start then coming home like a runaway freight train to then bow out in the first semi-final
However it was the rink of John Slavich that lifted in the second round of the home and away fixtures that gave the PowerHouse the impetus to threaten for the Premiership.
This is the 3rd occasion that John has won the medal and in fact the 4th time a Slavich has been the winner, Brother Charlie won the Medal last season in a different side
Well done to second placegetter Peter Ker, a previous winner of the State Pairs, on his effort this the season in coming second. He was swung into John Slavich's rink about the halfway mark and certainly made a difference to the rinks good performance. This is Peter Ker's best placing in best player awards
Roger Barns came in third in this Medal count and played his part playing a second and getiing his votes in different sides is testament to his contribution to the Doubleview cause
Daniel Trewhella finished well up once again to come 4th in a good season for him after the disintergration of his fabulous rink of last season.
Charlie Slavich came in 5th place this year after having won the medal last season in a stunning performance from he and the rink he played for when the side he played for were beaten only twice during that season
Ken Screech has become a permanant member of the Doubleview 16 and did well as a leader to finish in the top six
