Preview One Blue South Round FIVE

Midland Morrison v Safety Bay

Midland Morrison will host Safety Bay following their good performance at Melville picking up valuable points; while Safety Bay will be looking for consecutive wins following their game last week against Byford.
Last week the Midland side had good contributions across the green with their strongest performance from the John Snell rink, while for the Bay none more consistent than the rink of John Mulhall, Safety Bay have started slowly however have steadied in the last few weeks.
Midland need to start winning or it will be season over before the Christmas break,

the result will be Midland 6 / 2.

Byford v Manning

Byford will roll out the synthetic for the Manning side, last week were contrasts for the two sides, Byford worked hard all day to just come up short against Safety Bay while the Manning Eagles won with out their regular contributors against a gallant Osborne Park side.

Byford haven’t won an aggregate this season, they will need to have all their key players up for this game or it will be curtains, while the Eagles are flying high; they are the trend setters and look very comfortable, last week the rinks of Bill Pengilly and John Francisco set up their win with very good wins, this game will ensure Manning remain at the top of the table.

the result will be Manning 6 / 2.

Rockingham v Melville

Rockingham returns home following a narrow loss to the Hilton Park side, the Rocky boys kept the Park honest all day, while Melville narrowly won against a struggling Midland side.

Rockingham has welcomed back Watson Mcilvean and it has strengthened their side considerably, John Lethlean lowered his colours to David Opie and you would have to expect John’s rink to turn that loss around.

Melville's ? Cannell (sk) B. Gertig, Whitewood and Puddey are one of two unbeaten rinks in One Blue South and will be hard to beat on their form
However Melville will need to bring their best game to test the home side, Rocky at home with some minor changes to the sides will be at their best.

the result will be Rockingham 7 / 1.

Spearwood v Hilton Park

The Spearwood side return home following two unproductive weeks on the road, while Hilton Park is on a roll with 3 straight wins, the home side has struggled against top four sides and will be looking for a win to stay in the race for the top of the table.
Hilton Park has produced very consistent results to justify their position on the table. The games between these two sides always guarantees entertainment, the Park with David Opie and Travis Simpson will test the Spearwood side, Boris Yakas battled last week against an in form Brenton Scott this week will be a different proposition.
Ken Nadilo is settling into the skippers roll, the Spearwood side defend their home ground advantage as strong as the other teams in the competition; this contest will be close.

the result will be Spearwood 6 / 2.

Osborne Park v Vic Park

It’s the battle of the Parks, Osborne Park return home following a narrow loss to the ladder leaders, while Vic Park will be buoyed by their strong win against Spearwood, this promises to be the game of the round both sides will be working hard to create an early advantage.

Keith Guelfi Osborne Park (pictured) has been an outstanding competitor over many years, there is no such thing as an easy game when you draw Keith

Keith Guelfi
Osborne Park with consistent performances from the rinks of Keith Guelfi and Doug Eaton will ensure the visitors are not too comfortable. The Vic Park rinks were very consistent last outing with the Nev Young rink the only side troubled at days end.
Brenton Scott played well all day to close out his game early he will be looking for a similar performance this week this game will go down to the last few ends.

the result will be Osborne Park 5 / 3.
