Preview One Blue South Round Two

Spearwood v Midland Morrison

Tonko FiamengoSpearwood host Midland Morrison, the Midland team will have one of their longer journeys this season to play south of the river, they will be hoping to open their account for the season following on from their disappointing start last week at home to the Rocky boys.

Spearwood return home from a good start to the season against Byford, Ken Nadilo as first up skipper recorded a good win; the home side will be looking to continue with their good start. The Spearwood side will be settled following some changes and should win this encounter;

the result will be Spearwood 6 / 2.

Safety Bay v Manning Manning

travel south to Safety Bay, on the back of a good win against Melville at home, while Safety Bay had a day to forget against Vic Park last Saturday. The Safety Bay team at home is a different prospect; you would expect significant improvement on last week’s performance.

Peter BowdenManning appears to have covered their losses well with Peter Bowden successfully returning to a skipper’s role, and the Manning cornerstone in Milan Jokic already stamping his authority, one would expect Manning to be too strong for the home side,

the result Manning 7 / 1.

Hilton Park v Byford

Hilton Park will host Byford and will enjoy the return to home greens following their sojourn north to Osborne Park; the Park lost by the smallest margin to the Osborne Park and will be ready to greet the Byford boys who struggled against Spearwood in the opening round. Hilton will be again with out David Opie (he is in the UK competing in the PBA Engage Singles), it will be left to Travis Simpson to provide much of the Park’s momentum the home side will cover David’s absence;

Byford will have to restructure themselves to ensure they are competitive and don’t get the staggers early into the season, Byford have the players to compete at this level however at Hilton Park on a windy Saturday it could be all too much.

Hilton Park 7 / 1.

Melville v Osborne Park

Melville at home to Osborne Park, Melville didn’t enjoy their first up game against Manning two rinks performed well however more of a team performance will be required, Osborne Park had a dream start to the season beating one of the fancies in Hilton Park by one shot. The Park boast sides in One Blue North and South, it will be interesting to see how they have managed their playing resources to compete in both. Melville will be working hard at home to kick start their 2007 campaign while Osborne Park will striving for two wins in two games, the result will be

Osborne Park 6 / 2.

Rockingham v Vic Park

Vic Park travel to Rockingham following a very good opening performance, while the home side travelled to Midland to record a very good away win; this will be the game of the round, both sides have jumped out early with good wins. The Rocky boys always led by Mr Dependable John Lethlean will be hard to beat at home, Vic Park will fancy themselves with Nev Young showing the way, with a strong sea breeze at Rockingham the home side has a 20 shot advantage this must be countered by a solid team performance from Vic Park, the contest will be close with Rockingham too good on the day,

the result will be Rockingham 6 / 2.
