FINALS

INNALOO 85 (6 ½ ) D WANNEROO 2 62 (1 ½ )

Walker 16 drew O'Donohoe 16
Cunningham 31 def Beazley 10
Alden 21 def Knight 17
Tennant 17 lost Ward 19

Innaloo continue their impressive run of Pennant success and advance to First Division White.

Almost out for the count on Saturday morning after a thirty four shot flogging from Wanneroo 2, who would surely have had the champers off the ice at that stage, the Redbacks got home in a close finish over Osborne Park in the afternoon, but looked to be behind the eight ball early in Sunday's decider when the Roos held the whip hand.

When the gusty breeze from the West changed conditions, the Redbacks lifted their game, and sailed away to an eventual twenty five shot win.

Frazer Cunningham has been an acquisition for Innaloo since crossing from Beaumaris early in the season, and his side of Terry Northcott, Frank Langley, and Ron Monger, who drew like a poultice, clinched the aggregate with a twenty one shot win over Rod Beazley's four.

Ted Alden, Rod Revell, Tony Horner, and Malcolm Sargent won a tight contest with the Roos Paul Knight by four shots.

Ted Alden has had a brilliant season with a 13-4 win/loss stat sheet. He and his rink were the best performed rink in the One Blue division.
Ted Alden
Hugh Ward, Chris Buchholz, Boswell, and Jamie Edmonds had a ballburster with Andrew Tennant, Jerome Clayton, Wally Stevens, and Rick Dunn, with the Roos rink winning by two, while the Paul Walker and Jarod O'Donohoe rinks fought out a draw.

This is the third consecutive promotion for the Redbacks, with their top Saturday team only four seasons ago being third Division.

This season all Saturday teams played in the finals. The ladies, not to be outdone, had one of their two second division sides finish on top and achieve first division for next season, as did the ladies in the Saturday competition.

Many members contributed to this success, however Bar Manager Paul Walker has been instrumental in the changing fortunes of the club.

Always on the lookout for talent, Doubleview attempted to lure Paul to their club, however he resisted the temptation.

The icing on the cake for Paul came last week when he won the award for Bar Manager of the Year.
