Jack Driver previews Blue South 2011-12

ROUND 12, February 2 2012

Another two or three fairly difficult games to predict again this week, as seems to be always the case in this evenly balanced competition down in One Blue South!

THORNLIE (7th) versus COCKBURN (1st)

In the first round the Ravens lost to the Roosters 7½-½.

This is arguably the match of the round. The Ravens showed a return to form in the last round and will be looking to climb out of the dreaded bottom four.

The Roosters did exceptionally well against the Bay where they were missing a few top players.

If the Roosters turn up with close to their best sixteen, they should be a little too strong for the Ravens.

Roosters 6-2.

WARNBRO (2nd) versus SOUTH PERTH (6th)

In the first round the Wizards defeated the Millers 5-3.

The first round fixture was an epic battle where the Wizards got up at the death knell. The Millers have lost a number of games by very narrow margins and will be very competitive.
The Wizards have been strong at home and the home ground advantage should be enough to carry them over the line.

Wizards 6-2.

SPEARWOOD (3rd) versus KWINANA (10th)

In the first round the Dallies defeated the Klippers 6½-1½.

It is difficult to make a case for the struggling Klippers.
They were more than competitive on two rinks against the Wizards but down at Spearwood where the Dallies are so strong will be another matter.

Dallies 7-1.

MELVILLE (5th) versus ROSSMOYNE (8th)

In the first round the Magic lost to the Rats 5½-2½.

The Magic are becoming a little unpredictable at home while the Rats have performed quite well away from home.
If the real Magic team turns up that should be too strong for the Rats.

Magic 6-2.

MANNING (9th) versus SAFETY BAY (4th)

In the first round the Eagles defeated the Bay 6-2.

The Eagles are another unpredictable team at home and have more talent than their ninth position on the ladder suggests.

The Bay have been the more consistent side and look to have the wood on the Eagles.

Bay 7-1.
